Belkin Category-5e Crossover Molded Patch Cable (Red, 10 Feet)

I was troubleshooting a problem with my computer talking to another machine. One of the suggestions was to change the cable. As I had done the rest of the list, I ordered this. Condition corrected although I really miss Radio Shack.

I'm really surprised that belkin, being a top brand, would send a crossover cable that doesn't even have boots on the connectors. As noted in the pictures, this cable doesn't resemble the advertised picture. In the future I will build my own crossover cable, and it will be built properly. These clips are going to break off in no time, and the 8+ dollars that I spent we'll go down the drain. I'm really disappointed in Belkin. If they were smart, they would send me another cable with boots on the connectors, and I would be willing to modify this review.

It works

I bought this cable to try and get my chinese laser engraver working, but discovered that I could not get it to work with this cable. My bad. Cable appears to be of good quality, and I love the color.

I don't know if the cable doesn't work or if, more likely, there is no definitive method available of hooking two PC's together in the comfort and privacy of my own home... After hours of scouring the internet for information and trying dozens of different approaches, I am STILL not able to get two PC's sitting next to each other to talk to each other.So... cable? Lack of technical expertise? Both? Neither? Who knows. Should have left this item on the shelf, though.

Been using this for several months now, to connect my modem and router. No problems whatsoever. Just the length I needed, and the color distinguishes it from my other cables - which is good, since I live with a web of computer related cables. I have always had good luck with Belkin products.

I used this cable for a networking project where we had to link between two Linux systems and it worked fantastically. Never once did the cable fail to work. It gave us a consistent throughput and the length was more than enough for what we did in a small room. The 10-feet should also be a great gift for the college student that needs wired connection in the dormitories.

This cable is well made and a good price. No other requirements for me.
