Q: How do you get to the belt to replace it?

The belt is purchased, the neato is disassembled, the old belt is taken off the motor, the new belt is put on, and the neato is reassembled.

Q: Is this belt for the side spinning brush?

no it is for the main brush in the xv series. there is no side spinning brush on this model. I do sell the side spinning brush motor for the botvac that includes the belt if you need it. used and new found here. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017OITB7S
