Ten classic tales featuring mischievous mutt Kipper, voiced by Martin Clunes. In 'The Visitor', Kipper is visited by a lost gosling who must learn to fly so it can rejoin its family. In 'The Umbrella', a fishing trip turns into a real adventure, while in 'The Seaside', Kipper has to rescue his friend Tiger who gets stranded by the incoming tide. In 'Nothing Ever Happens', the bad weather is beginning to bore Kipper, but everything changes when he finds a top hat and a wand. In 'Pig's Present', Kipper can't decide what to buy for his dear friend Pig, but when he finds something he realises that he wants to keep it for himself. In 'The Rainbow Puddle', our canine friend finds the end of a rainbow where a magical frog offers him three wishes. 'The Butterfly' sees the little canine forced to face a dilemma after he traps a butterfly in a jar. In 'The Bleepers' the playful pup meets some visitors from another planet. In 'Snowy Day', Kipper ventures out to play in the freshly fallen snow with his chum Tiger. Finally in 'Pig's Cousin', Arnold is carried off into the sky when he tries to fly a kite.

Kipper is a really good movie, too bad it wouldn't even play.
This movie would not even play my kid was very upset. I think it was pretty rotten to sell a tape that was junk thanks a lot. It was also not even from our country. What a joke.

Wrong DVD zone
I'm sure that this would have been a great DVD - my kids love all the other Kipper ones. Unfortunately, I received a copy that does not work in DVD zone 1 (the US and Canada), so we never got to see it!

KIPPER -- THE CLASSIC COLLECTION
PURCHASED THIS FOR THE YOUNGEST OF MY GRANDKIDS. ALL FIVE OF THEM HAVE 'GROWN UP' WATCHING KIPPER ON DEAR OLD VHS, AND BY NOW THESE A GETTING PRETTY WORN. (DARE I SAY IT, YOU CAN'T PIRATE THEM ONTO A DISC BECAUSE THERE'S A LOCK ON 'HIT' MATERIAL OF 'KIPPER'). THE KIDS ALL END UP WITH FITS OF LAUGHTER, AND I TOO LOVE THE WORK OF MICK INKPEN, AND EVEN THE VOICEOVERS ARE GOOD. I'M A BIT OF OLD TRADITIONAL GRANDAD I SUPPOSE, AND I'VE GOT THEM INTO STEAM TRAINS, FRED DIBNAH AND THE LIKE -- EDUCATIONAL HISTORY, AND TO ME, FAR FAR BETTER THAN ALL THESE COMPUTER ANIMATED MONSTERS, WARLIKE ROBOTS AND VIOLENT TRANSFORMERS. CERTAINLY NOBODY USES BAD LANGUAGE ON KIPPER OR SPITS BLOOD EITHER ON KIPPER. WONDERFLLY CHILDLIKE AND TOTALLY RECOMMENDED... BUT ON THIS OCCASION, ZOVERSTOCKS, THE SUPPLIER. SOLD ME GOODS THAT WEREN'T UP TO SCATCH -- LITERALLY! THEY'VE GOT A GOOD RATING AND I'VE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THEM BEFORE, SO I ACCEPTED THE DVD AS 'MARKED BUT PLAYS OK'. SORRY, BUT IT DIDN'T, AND I HAD SOME DISAPPOINTED KIDS, SO SADLY, I HAD TO ASK FOR A REFUND, WHICH WAS ISSUED WITHOUT QUESTION. I THEN ORDERED A REPLACEMENT ELSEWHERE.

One of the best - especially if you want kind and gentle behaviour.
Kipper is very gentle and sweet, he's always helping the other characters and being patient and kind. I think, despite not letting my kids watch too much of it, that their behaviour is gentler as a result. So many kids programs I don't let them watch because the interactions are all angry or competitive. This is a rare exception. The characters all speak very clearly too, which I think is why they liked it, even from when they were quite young. The pace is gentle and I really like that the drawings are so simple, it leaves some room for their imagination.

Refreshingly really cool
Refershingly, not too busy, noisy with elaborate, shouting dialog and complicated story lines as I find most kids cartoons to be these days, just beautifully simple and endearing. Music is relaxing and feel good. Characters are fantastic and so likeable. Story lines simple and captivating. Also, it is 7 little movies that play consecutively for 97 mins without needing to come back to the remote to click for the next one, so you can kick back and relax. My 14 month old absolutely loves this and so does his Mum Mum 👍

Gentle fun
Perfect, utterly uncontentious viewing for little children, or sensitive children who struggle with scariness. By 'uncontentious' I mean that no one is nasty to anyone, no characters get back at anyone else, and there are no power struggles between characters, unlike many other DVDs and films. There are some episodes that make our children giggle uncontrollably (most notably 'The visitor', about a gosling). I think (from memory) there are ten episodes. We also have some of the stories in a Kipper collection book which is also excellent and doesn't have identical script (the book script is appropriate for reading aloud whereas the DVD script is appropriate for listening to characters), though the stories are the same.
