Great pasta maker when you mount the clamp in its hole
This pasta maker works great. Only 2 cutters. About 3/8 wide and 1/8 guessing. I only wanted the wide any way. Drive me crazy with the pasta maker clamped down still moved like a snake over a hot fire. Well today I was going to mount it to a board with screws. Duhhhh. Look at the photo. If I can load it off this phone. On the one side of the pasta maker is a half inch hole. Wondered why the clamp had flat spots in it That's where the clamp gos. Not on the flat parts. Just snugged up with the clamp and you are not going. To move it. Not even wiggle it. Now I like it a lot better. I have it clamped onto a 1932 sliding Leaf table. Also mounted to a 3/4 X 22 inch board for different ways to mount. Update. If the dough is slightly wet it'd not going to cut right and stretch on the drying rack. I am using a big mixer kitchen aid. 3 cups flour. 3 eggs on bottom with a 1/4 cup water. Might have added 3 kitchen tbls more at the end. Mix on slow for 6 to 10 minutes. It will look all crumbs. Squeeze the crumbly mess and if it right it will stick together. If crumbs are falling off wet your hands and work it till it looks good. Plastic wrap in fridge 30 minutes. Finally got it right. Cuts perfect no gobbing together. 3 months trial error. Has to be dry . Very dry. Update screws fell out of Gage side. I had already tightened the other. Finally figured out how to get the Gage open to redo the base leg screws. Use one of those cheap tiny screw driver sets. Use a thin straight and slip it in the knob that turns. Best done with that side up. Put blade in and twist. When that comes out. Take the nut and washer holding spring in. Be careful look close before taking out. The nut is just turned in level. Then unscrew Phillips head and the side plate will come off. Careful if nuts are loose can pop out on floor. I used locktite to keep that from happening again. Also on the crank use masking tape around the head about two wraps and this will keep the crank from falling out. You and still move it to the cutters. Update. 3 months use an yes had a screw come loose. Fixed it. Finally got the dough right. Photos show consistency of dough right. Same as consistency of pie dough. I use one cup flax flower 3 regular. 4 eggs. 1/2 cup water. 1/3 cup oil. Probably 1 teaspoon dry Italian seasoning. I use a kitchen aid on 1 speed 5 minutes then 2 speed for 4 minutes. It looks way to dry. Nope don't have to use flower when I roll it. I use my knuckles to compress in the mixing bowl. Pull it out and of any more water wet your hands and make a ball or flater and put in fridge half hour long as you want. I break off about 1/5 and form it with hands and then use a 9 inch roller to flatten it. Some time it is rough looking. Just fold it and run it thru again. Drys really fast if it is done right. Cuts perfect. Can do the spaggti but prefer the wider noodles. Used one box store noodles in 3 months. Ugggg not good after mine

Mmmmm. Pasta.
Pasta is one of my favorite things to make. The flavor is richer, and the texture more stable than dried store-bought. I didn't make it very often, though, because rolling paper-thin by hand is a difficult and time-consuming task. This sturdy and perfectly functional roller is a great solution. Even though one has to roll by hand, the process is very simple as long as one works with manageable pieces of pasta dough. I use my own recipe (a base of 1 3/4 cups flour, 1 egg, 2 egg yolks), and there is no sticking or other trouble. The cutters work great, too. One downside is that you don't want to put salt in your pasta because it can accelerate corrosion to the roller, but that's remedied by salting your boiling water. The only real issue with this is how dirty it is when it arrives. I ran a TON of paste through it before it was cleaned out to my liking. I even ran it through "improperly" in order to be sure the pasta got into all of the crevices. Now, pasta comes through clean and perfect. I highly recommend getting one of these if you don't already have one!

Makes great pasta
Makes wonderful pasta even with a simple recipe. I do recommend a drying rack with purchase. Not required though. This item is easily manipulated and works great. The purchase of a cheap brush(we use a cheap toothbrush) is a plus as well. Cleanup and storage is an ease just follow the included after use directions. We have currently used ours six times and it has performed wonderfully well. A great addition to your pantry as two or three bags of flour should keep a family of five in pasta for some time. ( no need to worry about a pasta shortage!). For the price it was worth the buy. Although this would be the top end of the price scale. Easy to use Easy to clean Makes a product we all love =win for my household.

Meets my expectations
It meets my expectations. I read all reviews so I would avoid any problems. I find the key is in the dough recipe you use...seems it must be stiff and non sticky and hold together well... Make sure to have a waste basket below the clamp for loose flour to fall as cranking the handle...this is in order to avoid mess on floor. ...clean up is easy as all I needed to do was use a pastry brush to brush off loose flour...no need to put pasta maker in water if dough is not sticky... I like the stainless housing...seems strong and is heavy and adheres to counter top with non skid pads... I ran a little dough through and through to act as a cleaner first time I used the machine and also to get feel for it...then threw away the dough... It saved me a lot of time doing rolling for my dumplings...see above for sample of them... I did run it through all settings and they all cut fine and I did my dumplings last so I could cook a batch...

Fell apart after 4 batches of pasta
I thought I would give this pasta maker a try based on the reviews and cost. I made pasta with it 4 times. 1st time worked fine. 2nd time the fettuccine attachment would not work. The attachment has some flimsy stainless steel in it that is supposed to keep the pasta from wrapping around the cutting wheel. The pasta would wrap around the cutting wheel and would not cut. So I used the speghetti attachment and that was working fine. On the 4th time using it the pasta roller (the main machine that is designed to roll sheets of pasta) warped. When I tried to roll a sheet of pasta it would have thick sections and thin sections since the wheel warped under the pressure of rolling the dough. At the same time the knob that sets the thickness for the pasta fell off. I ended up tossing the machine in the trash and have purchased a higher priced model hoping the next model is more durable. If you only make pasta a few times per year the machine might work for you.

A good beginners pasta maker to see if you even like it!
This is a great โstarterโ pasta maker. I highly suggest that you try the Bonapitite egg pasta that is very simple. The pasta we made was delicious and it was the first time we have tried it! The machine itself was easy to use, but very hard to clean and showed signs of rust after the first use. We ended up working a paper towel through it to get the last bits off the mechanism and that actually worked. The bamboo dryer that amazon says to add is a real must. Itโs very helpful to have somewhere to put the pasta once it goes through the cutting side.

but it rolls like a breeze
after spending and entire evening hand rolling dough for pierogis, shoulders killing me, back killing me, I said the heck with it and got online and bought this machine. I always thought they would be very expensive, but you sure can't beat this price! I got it the very next day too! Well let me be the first to say what a fool I was to hand roll dough!! This is a small machine, but it rolls like a breeze. I am so happy with it. I made close to 100 ravioli in about an hour or so! That would have taken me several hours the other way. It seems well made, heavy duty. I even made some fresh angle hair pasta and fettucine pasta for dinner tonight! My husband is Italian and has for years talked about making fresh tortellini and ravioli with his grandmother as a kid. He jumped right in and helped shape the ravioli today. Just like a little kid in a candy shop. Now I will know exactly what goes into my pasta dishes!

Great product, awesome price!
I use this multiple times a week and I LOVE it. Pasta was the last processed food we bought from the store and this machine has allowed us to wean from that completely. If you're making your pasta dough the right consistency (not too wet) you won't need to clean the machine. My only issue is a "me" problem; I have trouble guessing the correct thickness for pasta. So far I've figured out that 7 is perfect for lasagna noodles and 9 is VERY delicate; similar to quick-cook or instant types of noodles. I'll get the hang of it eventually but I wish it had come with a thickness guide or a little Italian grandma to help me out.

Arrived not working.
When I originally received the pasta maker one of the wheels wouldn't turn meaning it wouldn't roll the pasta out. Luckily I have a very handy male in my house as he was able to fix it for me - the cogs that turned the wheels weren't joining up. Also frustrating that the handle always falls out. Apart from that, and once it was fixed it works quite well.
