Waterscapes International SP1400 Waterfall Spillway, 14-Inch

This works fine for a compact waterfall. Our pump works at a much higher flow rate than recommended, and the box has no problem handling the flow. The tray set in the top is invaluable in setting rocks to conceal the black plastic sides.

Depending on size of your pump, especially with 1.5in hose, it needs a top to not lose water. My pump with flat rock was still bubbling water over top edge. It required me to adhere a flat plastic cover to top edge in order not to lose water over sides. Otherwise this spillway works good in allowing plenty of water flow.

Best part is the union type fitting it came with...rest is just expesive plastic. It does come with a mesh insert to filter the water as it passes through. However, I'm not sure how the plactic filter gate is going to stay on. If you glue it on, how will you change the filter? If you don't glue, what will keep it in place? I plan to use some plastic bender board as side rails but seems like this could have been addressed for the price...

Very flimsy construction. DO NOT recommend this for a professional look, or even for a serious hobbiest. It's okay if you don't expect it to last too long.

Love this spillway, it is just the right size for the waterfall feature I added to my stock tank pool. The thickness of the spillway doesn't loose its shape when holding water and in general it is very sturdy.I like that it comes with the black silicone to seal the edges, and that the threads/piping to feed the water really fit well with regular PVC tubes.
