Generally I put everything that I need to access during the flight in the small zipper pocket with my laptop, For example, a book, a bag with headphones and/or eyemask, sometimes even a small blanket for transatlantic flights. Then I can easily pull out my comfort items when I get to my seat, without having to unzip the whole case. The wheels save my back and neck/shoulder the weight of carrying a bag in the airport, which can be very tiring.
