Are they?** A: yes, but they are of the same thick sturdy construction of the box. for comparison's sake - take the trivial pursuit box vs. monopoly or chutes and ladders. the latter two end up ripping at the seams and are easily crushed. Trivial pursuit box is much sturdier and holds up. Sneaky Snacky Squirrel (box and logs) are better and stronger than trivial pursuit. if you step on the logs, they'll probably show damage, but form regular handling, not at all. in fact not only are they thick board, they are coated. my son also just got chutes and ladders and it is so cheap and flimsy - this game (SSS) was so well made that it was actually an ooh and aah session when we passed it around. like I said, 4 ppl ordered it once they saw it.
