Any advice?** A: Get larger pebbles so feces can easily move between them. **Q: Can plants be added to the top like an aquaponics tank?** A: Plants can be added to the top. Fish cannot. Well only if you want to abuse them and have them suffer before dying. **Q: Do you need to buy filter cartridges or can you just clean this one?** A: This product does not have a filter, it is kept maintained by adding fresh and clean water every few days.
