The zipper was broken so I wasn't able to take it out but when I did get it unzipped, the inside was loose stuffing. I think it's misleading to have a zipper if you're not really able to take the cover off to wash. You have to throw the entire thing in the wash. Overall, though, it is a nice, more cost-effective alternative to the Boppy. Boppy covers do fit the pillow.The pillow seems more supportive due to firmness. I also use it to lay my son on his back and he enjoys the view .I am not sure why it has a zipper . You can't really take the cover off because the foam/stuffing is loose inside.
