This one is masculine. Like really, really masculine. Like a “take an old, beat up leather jacket, drape it over a couple of tires to make a table and clean your guns on it” kind of masculine. Dark, unrefined, and totally unresistible, this is a scent for those who don’t mind sticking out. Those who forge the paths. Those who are proud to be a man. Scent is made of the following notes: Russian Leather, Motor Oil, Hoppes #9, Birch Tar, Oakmoss, Gasoline, Smoke, Cedar, Cade, Bergamot, Vanilla Natural extracts and essential oils were used where possible, but some notes – such as Hoppes #9 and rubber are synthetic due to the nature of the scent. 4oz of tallow based soap in a plastic tub (4" diameter and 2" tall). Who knew soap could take you on a trip
How to describe the greatness of this soap...Performance 6/5 (not a typo it's just that good) so slick, so smooth. Lather for days. i use a straight razor every other day as it's all my face can normally handle. I just finished a 3 pass shave and no irritation, and plenty of lather left over for another couple passes. My normal aftershave which is alcohol based didn't even tingle this soap is so smooth. If that was all this soap was, was a great performer it would be enough to buy it but it's so much more.The scent, how to describe the scent. This soap is canned hunting trip. Now this experience is very personal to me but, this soap smells like my hunting trips with my old man to the north woods of Wisconsin. When I first opened the tub the smell of leather and Hopps #9 filled my nose, it reminded me of packing for the trip up north, taking the still slick rifles out of the gun cabinet and making sure everything was in working order. As i lathered the soap the scent changed a bit, still leather and Hopps but now it carried with it a small hint of gasoline. I was suddenly sitting shotgun in my dad's '86 F250 with the rifles behind the seat planning our routes in to our tried and true hunting spots. After i finished shaving and did my cold water rinse the scent changed again. The oak moss and cedar replaced the gasoline and i was standing in the woods, chill on my face, rifle over my shoulder and cautious optimism that the trophy buck was just over the next ridge. The strong smell of this soap fades gently to leather and cedar which hangs around for a good while and doesn't offend with it's strength, but doesn't back down from cheap aftershave either.For the "Too Long Didn't Read" crowdThis soap performs amazingly well and smells better than it performs. Another winner from Chiseledface. This is definitely a dark, masculine scent, without the offputting elements of something like Leviathan, Roam, or to an extent Myrkvoir.Performance is top notch, but that's to be expected from CF already. If you're looking to try something on the other side of the spectrum from the typical light, citrus-filled shaving soaps out there, this may be the perfect choice for you.

Smell like a man
What a great shaving soap. I really like how the soap smells. The description is very accurate. You are going to either love the smell or hate it. If you want to smell like wildflowers then don't buy this. If you want to smell like a man then this is for you. I get a great shave with this soap as well. This is an all around great shaving soap and I highly recommend it.

Love the smell
Tried a sampler pack of all CF soaps and this one stood out as my favorite along with GTB. One of the best smells known to man IMHO! As with all CF shaving soaps it lathers up nicely.

First Whiffs Can Be Deceptive
I was repulsed by the shoe polish/leather cleaner/armor all scent that the jar of soap gives off. However, this stuff wears well once it's diluded, and on your face. Also the soap lathers great, and helped me get some great shaves. The good stuff, the right stuff.

Takes some getting used to
Hated this stuff the first time I used it. Wasn't that great a shave and left an overpowering "fresh burnout" stank on my face that overpowered my Clubman AS. I almost tossed it. Tried it again about a month later, blooming first this time. Oh what a difference blooming made. More subtle scents came to the forefront and mellowed out the burning rubber stench I got before. And as for the shave....best soap I have and I have a bunch. It lathers like mad, and is almost too slick. If you get any on your hands, rinse immediately or you're gonna drop anything you touch. What that dense and ultra slick lather adds up to is the best shave you'll ever have. Just remember to bloom it.....if you don't know what that means, sorry but you probably aren't worthy of this soap's awesomeness.

Bought as a gift for my boyfriend. He loves it. It's not overwhelming at all. Smells great.
