A Swarm In May, Worth a Load of Hay FIVE STARS
I purchased Honey Bee Swarm Lure Nasanov Pheromone because another swarm lure product I ordered was delayed in shipping. This Nasanov Pheromone arrived five days ago. Because I knew my colonies were loading up and preparing to swarm (lots of drones hanging around also) I thought I would put this lure in three empty (save for frames) 10 frame Langstroth style hive boxes. One of the boxes/hives consisted of bottom board, deep and telescoping cover with inner cover. Two of the hive boxes consisted of one deep box with piergo plastic frames primed with wax and one shallow super each. In the shallow supers, I did place some drawn comb that had no honey or pollen stores. As of this morning, two out of the three hives are now occupied by swarms and the third (single deep frame) box is being inspected by six or more scouts at a time, so even that box is looking promising.I give this lure FIVE STARS without hesitation. It arrived at just the right time for me... the other lure I ordered over a week ago has just arrived and I placed it in the fridge for later use.How did I use the Nasanov Pheromone? Well, here goes...As you can see, it's really a tiny vile and there isn't much in it. I decided to use q-tip cotton swabs.I took out three zip lock sandwich bags, dipped both ends of two cotton swabs and placed them in the bags. So, that's two q-tips per sandwich bag.I went out to the hives wearing surgical gloves so as not to get that smell (a little like Lemon Pledge) on my hands or fingers.I do NOT zip the baggies closed. I took out one swab and just did a tiny (about a half inch) rub on the interior of the entrance reducer, to the side of the entrance. Then simply replaced that swab in the baggie. I placed the baggie with two swabs inside the box, far corner from the entrance, on top of the frames... remember, leave the bag "unzipped". And then simply closed up the hive.Within a day, there were scouts in and out of all three boxes. (I'm hoping they are from a neighbor's apiary)...And now, as I mentioned in the beginning, I have two hives occupied with swarms that are setting up house and guarding the entrances. One hive to go and that looks promising. So, I've hived two swarms without having to move boxes around and not having to go through collecting a swarm from some nearby tree branch. And the hives are exactly where they will remain, no closing them up and transporting to some other location.Baiting hive boxes and soliciting area swarms to move in is the absolute easiest possible way to expand your apiary. I'm actually glad the other product arrived late, or I would not have had this lure for testing.I recommend it without hesitation or reservations. A "little" goes a long way... if you put too much in your box, expect the bees to avoid your trap or hive box. Remember, honey bees can follow a queen pheromone and even locate flowers by their scent from waaaay down wind. If you put a lure scent in your hive body or swarm trap, they will find it if they are in the area. And for the record, these hives sit just a couple of feet off the ground, not up in a tree or elevated as many do when trying to catch swarms. But I have many colonies already in hives and simply use this method to catch my own genetic lines.A swarm in May is worth a load of hay... A swarm in June is worth a silver spoon... A swarm in July... let them fly... :) have fun with your bees!

It works!
Used Rut Grenade, another bee swarm lure (also purchased on Amazon), someLemongrass oil and bee comb in 3 traps. Set one trap in early March in NC and caught a swarm in 2-3 weeks. Set two more at the end of March and 2-3 weeks later I have two more swarms. ALL three have active hives now.Keep in mind that I set these near about 4 active hives, but there are bees all over this area. Whether they are native or from my hives, I’m sold.

It seems OK, but.....
I'm only giving a 3 right now because frankly, I don't know if it works or not. It smells like just plain ole lemon grass scent, but I'll see if anything is attracted or not. I'm not saying it doesn't have pheromone in it, I'm just saying I don't really know and, like I said, it smells like lemon grass which I can get a lot cheaper. Otherwise, the shipping was great and the little vile it came in was nicely sealed, etc. etc.

Even a swarm in my own yard didn’t like it :(
I had high hopes for this swarm lure, but it didn’t work. Last year I caught 2 swarms using just lemongrass oil but this year, I used this product and didn’t get any. Even when my own colony swarmed! Not sure if it was a bad batch or some other variable, but others in my area are using a different product and catching swarms all over. I’m sad because I really wanted this to work.

Works as described. Within half a day I had a swarm at my hive. I used it on cotton swabs in a deep box. This was definitely the lazy way but I was surprised to see how many bees showed up so quickly. The bees didn't stick around but I'm sure if I had a raised hive for them they would have found it more attractive.

I keep mine refrigerated just like a swarm lure pouch
I used this a caught a swarm in the first week! It only took a drop! I have used it in a couple other swarm boxes too. I keep mine refrigerated just like a swarm lure pouch. I'm not sure if you need too but I figured it wouldn't hurt. For the price I should be able to get many uses out of the little bottle.

Can't say for sure but....
I'm pretty sure it's junk. Bees dont seem to pay any attention to it at all. But I'm not for giving 1 start unless I'm 100% certain something is bad. And because there's so many factors that are in that "could be" category I'm still going to give it 3.

cheaper than buying a nuc
Worked...had a swarm on first setting. I also put some honey in there, and also used lemon grass, but in the past lemon grass oil alone did nothing.
