Quality functional garden gloves.
Fir Tree gloves are by far the very best quality garden gloves that are functional for the most difficult tasks. I've had a pair for more than 18+ years and their condition is still very functional after all these years.I live on approximately 3 acres of river property in Florida with saw palmetto plants, palms, shrubs, trees, etc. These gloves are sturdy and the height of the gloves protect the arms from scratches and cuts from the sharp teeth when trimming the palmetto plants, the itchiness of trimming loropetalum, handling of carrying branches, etc. They also protect from getting poison ivy when reaching into overgrowth. The hand portion of the gloves are pliable enough to hold and pull out fine weeds, or plant small plants. They also have a size small enough to fit my hand. These are the very best gloves for all garden and acreage needs. I recently purchased a new pair just in case they ever get discontinued. I can't imagine not having them available if my old ones ever wear out.I highly recommend Fir Tree gloves!

Great protection but the sewing lacks a bit.
Bought these gloves in October and have used them for a while. They are a good quality goatskin and feel very good and do protect your hands and fingers from, dirt, debris and rocks. Very comfortable and the long material helps keep my hands safe and clean. The only issue we have is the stitching. On one glove the thread gave way at the fingertip and the side lining. It was a small tear and my wife, who sews a lot, was able to repair both tears. She advised that the thread appeared inferior for the quality of material. I emailed the company and asked that they contact their supplier in China and check on the thread and sewing of the product. I ordered another pair and we will see how these holdup. Otherwise, very good product for the price.****Want to add the company already responded to my Email and advised they are sending a new pair of gloves and apologize for the problem. We purchased two other pair of these gloves with no issues. Just a mistake in one pair of gloves. Excellent product. Now that is customer service and am upgrading to 5 stars due to the prompt resolve of our issue.

Not Only For Rose Bush Pruning/Trimming
My old rose gardening gloves were finally wearing out after many years of use so I began my search for replacements. I absolutely loved my old gloves and had them so many years I didn't even remember where I purchased them. I looked and looked. Read review after review and finally decided on these. Am so glad I did. They are heavier than my old gloves but still feel comfortable and not too thick/bulky in the hands. Are flexible enough to allow for detailed pruning of my rose bushes. Arms are nice and long to prevent scratching/thorn damage to skin. Have not had any thorns come through the gloves when pruning.I now used these gloves for all pruning and trimming of my shrubs ... not only roses. Great for picking up lawn debris too as they protect not only my hands but arms as well.Am going to purchase another pair to keep in the wings so I will have them on hand when the original pair wears out. I think they will last quite a while as they are very well made and seem quite sturdy.I wear a size 7 glove and purchased the small - they fit great - not too big and not too small, but just right!

Perfect for rose gardening
I've had these gloves for about 6 weeks and use them daily for tending to my roses. While i have several pairs of gardening gloves, these are my favorite for the following reasons:1) The extra small size fits my hands quite well, and a small-enough glove is hard to find.2) They are thorn-proof. I haven't been poked through the gloves once by the tiniest or largest thorns.3) The length makes it easy to deal with large rose bushes that get a bit wild and need a mid-summer haircut.4) They full leather/suede means the gloves are breathable and don't feel terrible to wear in 90+ degree heat.5) They are attractive gloves--the quality for what I paid far exceeded my expectations. I have the grey pair and they are more of a pale green-grey, which is quite lovely.6) They clean up nicely. After a particularly aggressive day of gardening, I needed to do more than the usual, brushing-off of dirt. I washed them in a cold bucket of water with a bit of castile soap and a bit of salt. I rinsed them, hung them to dry and they look good as new.For all of these reasons, I will likely purchase another pair and recommend them if working with roses. The alternative use of trimming cat claws isn't one I've yet attempted with my three fur-beasts, but I may indeed attempt the task with less trepidation than usual.

Great--but slightly expensive
These are great gloves and work well with roses or any thorn plant that you're trimming. They are slightly expensive, however. Thanks.

Great gloves!
These gloves were such a great surprise! They are soft but durable, they protect your hands and forearms from thorny rose bushes and they came in a cloth, drawstring bag for storage. My husband is on blood thinners so when he works in the yard he has to be careful not to get poked or scratched from thorns or branches. Our beautiful rose bushes were in need of a hard pruning this year and my husband found these gloves. I could not believe how effective these gloves were in protecting our hands and forearms. We dove right in and got the job done much faster than expected and without a scratch. Wow.
