I usually use two boxes each time but can do touch-up with one box. Each box comes with one tube of product. Tip: wipe hand lotion around your forehead, ears and back of your neck to prevent the dye from staining your skin. After 10-15 minutes, jump in the shower and rinse out the dye. Shampoo twice and apply other products as you normally would. Some say they had dye on their bedding pillows and sheets. I have never had this happen. Maybe they did not rinse well or shampoo after the application. The coloring only lasts for a few weeks and the grey grows out as your hair grows out which is quick if your hair is short. So you might need a touch up session in between full dye sessions. Don't worry about the color when it is processing. It is not what the final color will be when you rinse and shampoo. **Q: Which is lighter 25 or 30. thanks** A: 20/25 is their lightest shade, it goes up to 60 for Jet Black **Q: How many applications are in the package?** A: Believe me: there is about HALF an application in this small tube of color. My dear husband has a large head (wears XL hat) but has hair ranging from 2" on top to 1/2" on sides and back - so not a whole lot. I have to use TWO tubes of this to cover all his hair. I squeeze the tubes (Med Brown, Darkest Brown) into a plastic bowl and apply it with a hair stylist's brush. We tried combing it through the first time, and tiny flecks of hair dye flew ALLLLLLLL over the bathroom: counters, floor. (Luckily, he had a plastic cape on.) After applying the color (exactly as his sytlist used to do) using a comb and brush-on technique, I use my fingertips (with gloves on) to work the color down to the roots all over. He leaves it on for 15 min and the color comes out nice and natural - NOT like dense shoe polish, cuz I combine the two colors. It takes a little practice to get it just right. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great, but I prefer the shampoo-in formula *by E***C on August 23, 2021* With Just for Men, you can choose the shampoo-in formula or this comb-in one. They both work great, but have some differences. The main advantage of the comb-in one is that it doesn't go too dark if you leave it in for a few extra minutes. Supposedly, there is an absolute limit to its darkening power. Also, there is no mixing needed and the applicator may be easier for some people to apply. The major disadvantage of the comb-in version is that it heavily darkens your skin wherever it's applied. It can get really dark after a few minutes, and takes several days to gradually fade away. You can rub Vaseline around your hairline to combat this, but if you don't get it PERFECT, you will quickly see your mistakes in the dark outline on your skin. For this reason, I would NOT advise using this within 2-3 days of a photo shoot, party, or any other kind of public gathering. The shampoo-in formula has this effect, but not nearly as strong. Also, the comb-in formula oxidizes quickly so you are not supposed to re-use it. With the shampoo-in formula, you can mix half of each bottle in a container and easily get 2 uses per single packages if you have short hair. Anyway, they both do exactly what they claim to, smell decent, and are much cheaper than salon hair coloring, so I would definitely recommend Just for Men to anyone with some gray they want to get rid of. It would be nice if Just For Men made a touch-up product for the sides!
