I am a 69 year old who has RA, diabetes, and lots of other things that make it difficult for me to walk and exercise. I received this as a gift from my son. I use it every day for at least 8,000 steps and can tell if I miss a day. It may take a day or so to get used to the machine but I think the pro will be great it is not too fast. I crochet, read, or watch TV while using it. Whatever you get GET ONE FOR Your Mother. No more leg cramps!!! **Q: Is there a weight limit?** A: It is not to stand on so weight should not matter. Only the feet should rest on the foot pads. If used improperly, motor could burn out with excess weight. I do not see a limit on it . It is a great exercise machine for anyone with limited mobility! Also great for improving circulation. **Q: How long should you start out using this?** A: I just began after a long break. A couple mins is all I can do, (bad knees) maybe start slow and see how you feel. Not sure where instruction book is.
