Homak 27-Inch SE Series 5-Drawer Top Chest, Black/Gray, BG02026503

I bought this tool box to hold the various hardware items I've collected since moving into my apartment. I do all my vehicle's service myself, so I needed somewhere to store my smaller tools. This tool box works well and it's well built. The drawers slide smoothly and each drawer has a rubber mat in it to keep items from sliding around and making noise. The only thing I don't like is the locking lid on the box. If the top lid is down, you can't open the drawers, even if the lock is "unlocked". I find this annoying because I have to move all my large torque wrenches and sockets off the top of the tool box before I can open any of the drawers. Other than that, I like the box and it's a good price for what you get.

I bought two of these boxes to mount on my trailer. I had a limited amount of space to mount these. I needed a box eight inches or less in total height and these boxes were advertized at 7 3/4" total height (Overall). I thought these would fit perfect but when I recieved them they were 10 1/2", NOT 7 3/4 high and wouldn't fit. I had to return them both. They looked O.K. otherwise (pretty much what I expected) and were delivered in excellent shape, just wrong size. Return to AMAZON went smooth, no problems.

This 9-drawer top chest was a good price for the value. The overall product is sturdy metal with recessed handles on each side making it easy to move as well as to set flush against a wall or other chest. The top lifts up to disengage the drawer locks and has a roomy compartment at the top. The drawers are sturdy, slide smoothly, they come with a rubber mat liner in place, and they don't feel 'cheap'. The one feature I have not liked is that in order to open the drawers the top lid has to be fully opened. Not a big deal but it is something you need to remember to do before using the drawers. Overall I think this is a good product with a great value compared to similar items.

The tool box is big and has plenty of room and it is well made. My main problem with it is that I keep it in the back of my van and the pins that are use to hold the locking system together constantly fall out not allowing me to get in the drawers. a pin that is ectch on one side would probably stay in better. I gave it 3 stars mainly because of this. This happens constantly it is really a pain. otherwise A good tool box.

I love this thing! Before my husband & I lived together we both had separate tool boxes. We've lived together for over a decade & have been married for 8 years but STILL were using two separate tool boxes all this time. It was so frustrating. When looking for a screwdriver you would have to search one box and then the other, often having to take many items out to have a better look. After buying a new condo and doing a bunch of home improvements here and there I was SO tired of how disorganized all of our tools were & what a pain it was to find anything.I finally gave in and bought this tool box & I'm so happy I did. No more searching and taking apart smaller separate tool boxes to find a level or a pliers or wood glue, etc.This box is the perfect size, fits right in my storage closet/pantry, and fits all of the contents of two standard tool boxes plus a whole lot more. Now we also have a neat and organized place to keep all of our extension cords and our drill (which never fit in any of our tool boxes before). It is so nice to have a place for everything and simply open a drawer and see what you need right away instead of rifling through conventional tool boxes. It's such a great value for the the quality you get for the price, too. I really wish I had bought this sooner.

I ordered this on 6/7/10 & paid the full price of $158.50The day it was delivered, I noticed that one of the drawer slides was defective, in that the rollers act like they have FLAT SPOTS.I pulled up the ad and saw that they DISCOUNTED this item by $22 & change! What a SLAP-IN-THE-FACE.Then, just the other day I saw that the bottem drawer does not lock when the lid is closed!Due to the fact that the packaging materials have been thrown out, & that I added a knob to lift the top cover (I have arthritus in my hands) I cannot return it.I dont know if anyone from Amazon, or Homak reads these items (I doubt it very much) but I would appreciate your comments on this issue.

I bought this upper tool chest and I is really good quality for the price and far cheaper to replace than my original Craftsman 9 drawer the same size. I also bought the bottom roller tool cabinet - HOMAK BG04027603 27-Inch SE Series 6-Drawer Rolling Cabinet - Black/Gray and it is on back order for awhile but will be worth the wait.... When you think of it you are into a 27" x 54" combination tool chest and cabinet for 500 BUX and, shipped FREE.. Compare on the Internet and when you add in the outrageous shipping charges the other bargains out there are not bargains when you pay the freight.***Wives, for the hubby's birthday or Father's Day this is a great gift and priced right for a 15 drawer storage system. It is better quality than any homeowner tool box combo you can buy at Kmart or Wal-Mart, etc el cheapo places to buy tool related products and is large enough in drawer storage that your hubby will not run out of tool storage space unless he is a severely addicted tool addict....... Buy with confidence, it's a quality item at a bargain price.

This is a decent tool chest. I was able to consolidate and stuff most of my tools in there. I like it but I don't think it is any better than the ones I've seen at Home Depot. However, I've not compared them side-by side. The '27 size is 1 inch better than the standard '26 tool chest which is nice but the caveat is that it will not fit neatly on top of a competitor's '26 mid-chest either so bear that in mind if you think you may need more tool space.
