It will absolutely work as a midi controller. But if you have ableton i'd get a refurbished launchpad or a Push instead Happy Music-ing!!

Yes, any laptop with a USB and that can run DJUCED software.

Q: Are the 'high quality precision' pads velocity sensitive? Thanks.

No, they are firm but doesn’t take too much pressure to press them.
