These work great, but do require a break-in period -- the manufacturer sent an e-mail with info on how to break it in--if you follow the instructions it goes from being incredibly difficult to take apart to quite easy. You will be very frustrated with it at first, and after reading the instructions you will have little faith that the product will ever come apart easily, but trust me they will work like a charm.Here is the body of the e-mail sent by the company:Beau from Hoselink here, just wanted to pass along a big thank you for choosing Hoselink. Due to the tight tolerances, we have had to make the connections fit very securely. You may find that the first time you join them together, they are very difficult to untwist. Don't worry, if you leave them connected for a day or so they will stretch ever so slightly and you will be able to disconnect and reconnect them easily.We've gone to great lengths to ensure that these are the most durable, leak-free and easy to use hose connections on the market, but we are always looking for ways to improve.Listening to and acting upon customer feedback is the primary reason we are Australia's most popular hose connection, and we hope this old-fashioned approach to customer service will help us deliver the best possible product to our American customers.If you have any feedback at all we would greatly appreciate it. Looked great online, but once I rec'd the curious sets I almost gave them away. Two friendly, exceptionally helpful follow-up instructional e-mails from Hoselink nudged me into giving the connections a try. I'm happy I did!I attached the appropriate Hoselink connections to my outside faucet and my soaker hose. My constantly dripping faucet now channels ALL of the dripping water into the (usually attached) soaker hose.Also, I attached to my sprinkler hose a connection just like the one I attached to the soaker hose, and now I can easily switch back and forth between the two hoses as needed.One thing I especially like about the connection attached to the faucet is that it connects easily to either of the two hoses. Before, I had to struggle to attach each hose to the awkwardly tilted faucet, and it was time consuming, frustrating, and HARD to do. This faucet connection has eliminated all of that!!

These are awesome. They will not leak as long as you have the rubber gasket in place that they've included. They are easy to connect and disconnect as long as you follow their recommendation to close it to 3/4 of the way to the stop. If you turn it all the way it will take a good deal of force to disconnect. I recommended that they put a mark on the connector to show the 3/4 position because that's where most people will use it most of the time. I have used a similar product in the past and they broke over time. These are solidly constructed and made of high quality materials. They should last a long time but I'll update my review if anything changes.

I read about these in someone's rating of a sprinkler. Wow! What a great product! Thank you, whoever you were!These connectors are the best I have ever used, in over 50 years of gardening. They are easy to use and ABSOLUTELY do not leak. Plus, they are a very effective time-saver when connecting hoses.In my case, I have a beloved Moen Hot-Colt Hydrant Tap. If you have one, you love it too, but you know Moen doesn't make them anymore because they were notoriously problem-prone. Mine has been rebuilt twice. (Moen supplies the kits free, but my plumber charged $187 for the labor!) We have discovered that what wrecks these hydrants is being continuously connected to a hose. The back-pressure, or something, is the problem. These connectors make it effortless to disconnect the hose on the reel from the Moen hydrant.They also make connecting and disconnecting our various irrigation soakers very easy.

On the pro side, they work well without leaks. However, to lock them together, you have to twist them into each other. This means means there's a tendency for the connectors to come slightly loosened on the hose end as you twist them into each other - so you have to re-tighten each time. On the male end of the hose connecting to the female quick connect end this problem is especially pronounced. Additionally, the tightness of the connection actually makes them somewhat difficult to connect and disconnect, somewhat defeating the "quick" in "quick connector". They're definitely well built and solid though, and the connection point does not leak.
