I got the very BEST healing result from such a simple product
I self diagnosed my face rash as perioral dermatitis. It began as little bumps under the skin and no matter what I used topically, it was spreadingdown the sides of my nose and going straight down on both sides of my face from my lips to my chin. It was spreading towards my cheeks and it burned and itched. I read what people were saying didn't work for this condition.. Don't use a topical steroid cream....It could cause a rebound rash after it heals...I thought there was little need to see a skin doctor given most of them put patients on steroids anyway if rash isn't clearly definable....I kept trying lots of different products....from colloidal silver (which I'm still using after I wash my face with Baar's Palma Christi Liquid Soap because it's the only body wash that doesn't leave my skin feeling dry or burning/itching.. FINALLY, I came across zinc oxide ointment, remembering it was one of those simple skin solutions used many decades ago...for diaper rashes. It was always in our medicine cabinet when I was a kid....so I bought a tube...which arrived quickly. First night I used it, I had to put a tissue on my pillowcase to avoid staining it....but woke upwith less inflamed skin. Day #3 and I don't see the redness but zinc oxide can be drying so I'm presently using a lot of coconut oil on my facebefore I apply the zinc ointment. I feel my rash is slowly healing, even though people have described perioral dermatitis lingering for months...even after taking antibiotics, anti fungals...I got the very BEST healing result from such a simple product....And decided if topical zinc worked fora rash, perhaps I need to take oral zinc as well....But happy to have found a solution for such a terrible rash!

Buyer beware--Expires in 3 months!!!
I purchased this to use as a diaper cream, and it works fine for that purpose. However, I purchased this item in late July, 2012, and the expiration date on the product is November 2012! That's cutting it really close since the ingredients should have a much longer shelf life. This tells me the seller is keeping a lot of old product...try another seller!!!

Zinc Oxide Ointment
This product lives up to exactly what I had been looking for, a non scented zinc oxide ointment with minimal additives which could cause me to have any allergic reactions. The few inactive ingredients were obviously added to the ointment only to allow it to dispense from the tube as an ointment and were in a pure state which allowed the ointment to work exactly as I had hoped and included nothing that I would be required to look up on the Internet. This product is easy to apply and the directions on the box were in large enough print for me to read without having to use a magnifier.and were clear and easy to understand and the tube that it came in had the product name also in large enough lettering which would make it difficult to accidentally confuse someone using this ointment if it was stored with other products in similar tubes. I cannot think of any negative remarks and am very pleased that it works so well for me in every way, from the product itself to the easy to read instructions and it definitely deserves a five star rating.

Simple diaper cream
I love getting plain zinc instead of buying the stuff from the store with "other" stuff in it.

Much better than what you find in local pharmacies
Much better than what you find in local pharmacies. Effective for various skin conditions. Also good as a sun protection cream if you rub it in to where it doesn't look so white. No chemicals as with commercial sun protection creams which have been banned in Hawaii, etc.

Must have in our house
This product really helps heal pressure sores. It also acts as a barrier to prevent the sores from getting worse. There are many other products on the market. This is not the only product I use, or have ever used, but it one that I make sure I have on hand for those I care for.

Best used before bed
I've had a nose-rash condition for years and zinc oxide works wonders for skin restoration. The thin with this product is that the ointment is for the most part "waxy" and will linger unless washed. Adding some form of vaseline will help the product from having too much of a white "sheen". Best used before bed.
