Looking back at "Don't mess with Tanya"
In my opinion the short stories that made up the novel "Don't mess with Tanya" were amazing. I believe the author capture the true essence of Boston, Massachusetts in so many ways. There were stories that people from everyone all walks of life can relate to. I give this novel a 10/10, and I hope that there are more books published from Dr.Tangvik in the near future.

This book promotes stereotypes
This book perpetuates a lot of negative stereotypes. Furthermore, the genre of multicultural fiction is told from the perspective of minorities. If the author isn’t a minority I don’t see how an accurate depiction can be portrayed. It was required reading for my English composition 2 class by the instructor/author.

A Great Read
The Boston stories in Don’t Mess with Tanya are beautifully and expertly portrayed. I liked every one – especially the story about Tanya, the young black woman, who gets back at a store keeper for treating her with distrust as she looks around his store. I also liked Matt’s story as he waits in a hair salon for his haircut. The women talking in the waiting area give him quite a lesson in how they live their lives. These stories show the cultural and race diversity of the Boston community by portraying immigration difficulties and the violence the people have to contend with. However, it is not all dark. Love is portrayed as well.Ken Tangvik, is a great writer. His words kept me turning the page. I highly recommend Don’t Mess with Tanya.

Don't Mess With Tanya
This book definitely held my attention. I am a resident of the Roxbury section of Boston. I found that it was hard to put "Tanya" down because I was eager to see what happened with each of the interesting real-life-type characters. I liked the fact that the book addressed inner city areas and not just one section of Boston, but several. It was easy reading and the people in the stories reflect people you tend to meet in everyday life. One could relate to them or the situations they faced on a daily basis. Great Job!!!
