Fish Guards

No longer working, i need a replacement.
UPDATE: Recieved a refund on my order. Its good to see companies that don't leave customers hanging. Somehow my first email must have slipped through because my second email was promptly responded to with refund almost immediately. If i wouldnt have already replaced it i would have gladly taken a replacement being that i really like the design. I understand that sometimes there is just a faulty one info the batch , and even though it's too bad i got it, it won't reflect in my rating. Great design and customer service. Thanks. Purchased this back on june 8. It's info a 40g breeder and this heater should be plenty for my tank. About a month ago I noticed that the temp had dropped in my tank from 80 to 72. I turned it up next day tank is at 74, so turned it up again with no changes. The heater is now turned fully up set at 33 degrees c which should equate to about 91 degrees f. Put my thermometer next to it and still 74 degrees. Light is constantly on like it should be heating the water but nope. Hopefully i get a replacement, then I'll gladly give it 5 stars being that I like the design and safety features, but those things are nothing if the heater doesn't even work. Whether or not I get a replacement will reflect my update, most companies are good about replacing a defective item so I'm not too worried, but...if you are looking at this heater might want to hold off until my review is updated.

BE CAREFUL IF YOU HAVE CURIOUS TURTLES
At 1st, it was kind of hard figuring out the clasps. There isn't any directions, well at least mine did not come with any. All I received was the warning booklet which tells you how to handle it. But besides that, it does what it needs to do. Only thing is, if you have a turtle who is a curious one, BE CAREFUL! I came home one day after work and his lower jaw was stuck between the slits. Lord knows how long he was stuck but I'm sure it was a long time because when I finally got him unhook, it took him a long time to close his jaw. I held him for about an hour and a half to make sure he was ok before putting him back in his tank. I fed him a little to see if he would eat, which he did, so at that moment I knew he was ok just scared. But I didn't realize until the next day that I was lucky he was stuck above water because if he would've have his jaw stuck in one of the bottom slits, he would've drowned. So just be careful.

Better than other heaters
Shipping was very fast and I received this unit earlier than expected. I plugged it in my aquarium and was worried because the light was not staying on. I contacted the manufacturer and they got back to me right away with a suggestion. I had initially placed the heater right by my intake but moved it over to the opposite end of the aquarium where I have more movement. This tiny change made all the difference. I bought the 300W unit to heat a 150 gal freshwater tank. I am treating ich on cold water fish and wanted something that would not jump to too high of a temp too quickly, but still step up my temps gradually to where I need them to be. The single unit heats 150 gal, increasing 2 degrees per day which is great for what I need it for.If you're maintaining tropical species, then a 300W unit on each side of the tank would probably be better. The temperature gauge is very easy to set and read, unlike other heaters I have had. It also comes with a guard to prevent burns and protect the fish.Very happy!

Nice aquarium heater and an economical price!
The product seems well made and the guard will definitely protect your fish from the heater. The 2 included suction cups keep the heater firmly attached to the aquarium wall in whatever position you need. I have been using the heater for 10 days at this point and it is working well as a second heater in my 65g bowfront tank. It seem like a good heater, especially considering the economical price. I actually wanted to purchase another as a back-up, but they are currently out of stock. BTW-I received several follow-up emails from the company asking if everything was to my satisfaction. I replied to one message asking when more would be available and received a reply less than 24 hours later. Seems like good customer service to me.

Turtles are happy!
I've had this heater for about 5 months. I have 2 red eared slider turtles in a 90 gal tank. The heater works great. I read reviews of the heater overheating so I monitor it daily. I deducted 1 star because after about 6 weeks, right after a 3/4 water change, it did go for several days increasing 5-7 degrees daily. I closely monitored it and kept fiddling with it and it became consistent again and has been great since then. It fluctuates less than a degree now. I want to mention the customer service is excellent! It arrived without the suction cups and they fixed the problem immediately by sending a new heater. They also kept in touch with me the first couple weeks to make sure everything was good.

i love The design looks nice
It took me about 2 days Of monotoring The thank And ajusting To get To my desaired temp. 79 F( To get there i almost had To regularé it To The Max ) Currently To mantain that i have it in about 88F so my water can stay in 79. i love The design looks nice . Little trouble trying to get the succion cups in but I manage to make them fit. I notice the on light. Dosnt estoy on for more than maybe 30 seconds to a minute and doesn't go on again in about 10 -15 minutes . Maybe that's why I had so much trouble trying to get my temp stable. Other wise the price , design, and shipping are more that what I spect, fast affordable durable. I just have a few days with it
