Great cups for outdoor activities
I bought 6 of these for my family. We have used them several times during our outdoor outings. They appear pretty flimsy when first opened, but once you wash them in warm soapy water (or the dishwasher) per the instructions, they firm up and the springs are activated. If you like to squeeze your cups as you drink, then I guess these aren't for you. They hold a good amount of liquid, and when held gingerly (remember, the sides are rubber, not hard plastic) they are very easy to drink from. The rim is a solid piece of rubber-coated plastic. They open and close easily and, as mentioned, are dishwasher safe. The cap can even double as a small bowl, though it does have small holes in it, so it's not going to hold thin liquids very well, but it is a great little dish to use for small snacks for your little ones. These are a little bigger than I expected (about the size of a hockey puck) and if there was a smaller size available, I may have bought those instead. These are definitely a better alternative to disposable cups, separate-ringed collapsibles, or no cups are all.

Better than the cheap cups
At first, it didn't look as pretty as it does in the product photos. It looked like it was smooshed flat for a while, so I used my fingers to fully expand it because it looked like the cheap $1 expandable cup I bought a year ago which fell over if you let it go, and it was fine (stronger-looking) after that. If you use it regularly, you should have no problems with it I tested it with cold and boiling water, and I did not feel the temperature of the liquid inside.

great for football games.
I go to pro games where they charge you an arm and a leg for any hot beverage...well, guess what? Bring this cup and ask for hot water, add your own cocoa mix, and you're set! Although you think you're gonna melt the plastic, it holds just fine...a bit stinky in the beginning, but a run or two through the dishwasher and you're good to go.I'm sure these cups are also great for hiking, camping, etc...for me, late season football games are the way to go!

Helpful product
This is strange feeling, being made from rubbery feeling silicone,. It comes in colors that are fun, and twists down to form a thin plastic protective disk

Collapsible cup for outdoors
Very nice item to put in your backpack so you don't have to drink out of your hands. Nice size, good design, great idea.

Flatterware not so good....
In an effort to cut down on the use of disposable plastics, I ordered three of these for my family to use on picnics, for travel, etc. The construction of these involves the cup portion being glued to the plastic base cap. When I opened the first one, the glue had already separated from the cup and cap over about 35% of the bottom. It clearly will not hold up. The item is too inexpensive to send back, I will try to glue it and hope it holds for awhile. The cup is also much flimsier than I thought it would be. Haven't used it yet, but I can tell it is not going to be easy to use.Would not spend money on this again.

Decent product; smooth transaction
The cups do still smell like plastic even a month afterwards and repeated washing, but they do hold both hot and cold liquids well.I do enjoy being able to travel with them and avoid hotel glasses and mugs, and they collapse into a convenient size for travel. This order was not through Amazon directly, but another company. Shipping was *expensive* but in the time frame promised and with no incident.
