Great quality noise cancelling headphones for the price
I bought these headphones to replace a very old set of earhook phones that had cracked over many years of use. I wanted to purchase noise cancelling headphones because I often listen to music on my Iphone while mowing the grass. So far they have worked great. With the noise cancelling switch on they make the sound of the mower inaudible without having to crank the volume up to the point where it's blowing my ear drums out.Finding good quality headphones with noise cancelling at reasonable price can be tough. Not wanting to spend $130+ for a pair of headphones I eventually settled on these due to the other favorable reviews I had read. The sound quality is good, although one oddity I've noticed is that the sound clarity seems to get a boost when the noise cancelling is turned on. I'm not sure if this is normal for all noise cancelling headphones but it's irrelevant anyway because there's no reason to not always have the noise cancelling on.They are very comfortable also. The amount of pressure they apply is just right to where they won't go anywhere with a lot of movement, but aren't squeezing against your head too tightly either. The ear cuffs themselves are padded nicely and comfortable as well.If you are looking for a pair of noise cancelling headphones and don't want to spend over $100 then these are a great choice.

Good quality, well priced.
These headphones do not COMPLETELY cancel out noise, so if you're expecting something like that you should look elsewhere. That said, these headphones are extremely comfortable to wear, offer tremendous sound crispness, and are priced fairly. Using the noise cancellation feature in combination with music works very well. They're great for studying in libraries and at home while my roommate watches TV. Overall very pleased with them.

2 defective headsets, returned both
I bought 2 sets of these and returned both due to them being defective. I used these in the work place.Pros:- The fit is comfortable. I was able to wear the headset comfortably for a couple hours at a time. Gave an extra star because the fit for me was comfortable, and I've worn headsets that get uncomfortable after a couple hours.- The Active Noise Cancelling works well when it works. See Cons below.- Being able to disconnect the cable is a plus. I was able to swap the stock cable with a higher quality 1/8" male/male audio cable.- Looks great.Cons:- For both of the sets that returned, had the same issue with both items. After a couple hours of use, the left ear piece starts to make a noticeable intermittent crackle/static sound. Swapped the cable and battery and made no difference. Removed the cable completely and only used the headset with ANC and still had the intermittent crackle/static sound. ANC would also cut in and out frequently only out of the left ear piece.- Sound quality is no good with ANC turned off. With ANC turned on, the sound quality is much better. This company makes 2 grades of headphones. The Plane Quiet version is their lower end headphone, and the XCS is their higher end headphone. I bought the XCS, and in comparison to the Plane Quiet Platinum, it is a night and day difference. The price difference is $30 between the two on Amazon, but there is a significant difference in quality in that the XCS is at least twice as good. Both from a sound quality, ANC, and comfort level from wearing the head phones. If you are considering getting these Plane Quiet headsets, I recommend that you consider their XCS headset.

Too bad their made cheaply
I decided to take a chance on these even though worried from prior review with the swivel for the cups, the last thing I wanted to do was get an issue 2-3 months down the line. Instead I didn't make it near that far.First impressions:- Overall design is nice. I appreciate that they fold up pretty well for travel. A big plus.- The button to pop the battery cover is excessively tight. Had a couple of female coworker try, none of them could open it, so this might be an issue for some.- The cups are comfortable though they push down around the hears pretty hard. I'd be concerned that they would hurt after a while..- The noise canceling feature seems to work pretty well. It dos NOT filter everything though and I'm not talking about loud noise, seems like high frequency noises are not handled well. The building AC, that's not that loud, seeps through very clearly.- Noise canceling while listening to music definitely affects your music quality.Problems:After using the headphones for about 30 mins I put my head against my hand. I heard a crackle out of that ear cup. I then realized that by putting gentle ( I mean VERY gentle pressure, less than you would from having your head on a pillow) against the cup causes what I would describe as a short in the wiring in the cup. You get a lot of cutting in and out and crackling.. I understand that these are cheaper headphones but something like this just points to very bad manufacturing.Still haven't decided if I want to chance a replacement.
