great starter box. I only wish they would've used a better processor

I would give this item a 5 star review but it is held back by the limitations of androids operating system. For example some android apps do not have the same quality as their ios counterparts.

My experience is different than the other reviews and I am a pretty tech savy person.AESTHETICSThis is a pretty device, with a nice glossy sheen. The curves make it look very modern. It is small and lightweight. Looks wise, can't fault this thing.INTERNAL SETUPWhen you start up this device, the way it is set up is pretty and easy to navigate. The sounds are also pleasing as well. The speed when you are on the basic menu navigation is quick enough.It is easy enough to figure out how to install add-ons and how to adjust the settings. Everything is labeled for ease. I didn't have to look up guides for this part.ADD-ONSThis unit is only as good as the add-ons you pick. If the add-on you pick has garbage content, then you won't get anything. If the add-on you pick has good content, then your good to go. It is amazing what is out there and what the possibilities are. This unit connects you to those and for that part, it's pretty cool.NAVIGATING ADD-ON CONTENT / LAGThis is where I haven't had any luck and where I am disappointed.I just bought a new router and wireless router as well. My internet bandwidth was also changed and increased. So provider wise, everything is top notch. However, when I am trying to navigate add-ons that have content, there is ALOT of LAG! Also when streaming them there is also LAG and I coudld not watch movies or shows on here. I have watched numerous guides on how to change this and have modified the settings numerous times.OVERALLMaybe there is something I am missing. Maybe there is a setting I am not doing properly. I know I am pretty tech savy and usually am able to set things up and figure things out quickly, but this thing isn't where I want it to be and I honestly can't use it to watch anything yet. So if you get this, be prepared to do the legwork to get this thing up off the ground and running properly. I still haven't been able to.Note: I received this at a discount for my honest review and that discount has absolutely no sway in what I say. Which is evident in my reviews...

Okay let me start by saying I have had my eyes on one of these for awhile now, but I am so not a techy person so I was worried this would end up sailing out into the front yard in frustration! Finally I said let me just try worst case I can always send it back, and I also have a few good friends that use them so they could help me right !It is a very simple gadget its light weight and on the small side, the remote is super small - I think I would prefer that to actually be a little bigger. Thats just prefereence though the small remote does its job just fine ! So what you do first is unpack everything. Then you want to connect the devise with an Hdmi cable directly to your tv. Note that you do have the option of hard wiring this directly to your box! I however did not want to do that. The very next thing you want to do after it loads all up is CONNECT YOUR WIFI, I of course being as great as I am did not do this and spent the next 15 minutes attempting to figure out why my apps were all empty !! After I fixed that things were easy. Yes I said it easy.It does not come with any shortcuts added or not any that I could locate. However a few you-tubes and a few questions to friends and that was pretty easy to do as well. I did connect wifi but keep in mind that the further you are from you box the harder it is to get the signal. So far the only thing I am not loving (well plus learning a new system) is that I have had to go through a good bit of streams sometimes to find the one that is a good quality and doesnt spend the entire time buffering.Another part that I was very fond of is all the options - Movies TV shows theater movies weather real time tv the possibilities are endless.I was provided a discount on this one in order to test form and write my honest review. My plans are to learn all there is to know about this little gadget and then let that over priced cable go and replace it with one of these in every room !

I recently cut the cord on cable television and though I have several other name brand streaming boxes and sticks, none had KODI. My son has gotten into setting the android boxes up for a few friends and since I am no techie with streaming devices, I thought he could do it for me as well so when I was offered it at a discount for an honest review, I accepted. When I opened it up, I was immediately impressed by the small size and uniqueness of it's look. My son came down and off it went to his house (next door) to be set up. He brought it back a few days later and I was amazed by the ease of use and all the goodies he had set up on it. We sat and played with it for a bit but due to the fact that I recently "upgraded" to fiber-optic wifi (which for some reason is slower than my previous dsl) there were a few issues with some stuff loading. He told me to come check it out it his house and it worked perfectly so I know the issue is my wifi and not the device. At any rate, he is thoroughly enjoying it (at least until I can work out the wifi issues at my house).
