When switching between hot and cold water, the noise becomes even louder and unbearable. I have an older device of the same brand at home, and it works perfectly without any noise – which makes me believe this product might not be original or of very poor quality.

Works well but the ambient water is always cold and there is no child lock feature which is concerning. Edit had it a while now and when water runs out while pouring, if you don't turn it off or will keep running after a new tank is put in and it refills the reservoir.
