Yes, the handle can be removed – is the quick answer. I've had this toolbox for months now and it's been a pain in the arse getting in and out the back of the car because the handle snags on the roof. It never occurred to me that maybe the handle can be removed – in fact, I was in the middle of typing a response to you, saying that the handle can't be removed. Then I thought, what the heck, maybe it can. Blinking glad I went and checked. It's only because of your question that I learnt the handle is removable, so thank you. With the handle attached but lowered you need about 27 inches clearance, but with the handle removed you only need about 20 inches clearance. Hope this helps and thanks again because I didn't realise the handles removable until you asked!!! PS There are 2 very small red levers that need toggling to release the handle - the wheels still stay attached.
