Performed a side by side test of this red RTV and a well known name-brand. Each were rated to 260C continuous operation. Both brands performed well up to 150C, and this brand remained stable up to 200C, while the name-brand exhibited some swelling at 200C. Both brands showed signs of degradation at 250C. Would recommend this for a long-term seal up to 200C, but expect some seal degradation if used at rated 260C.

I used this RTV to stick the fiberglas gasket onto the draft inducer before mounting it on the furnace. I also used it to seal the pressure tube to the draft inducer. These areas operate at about 200-250 F. It worked great, and I found it to be strong, pliable, and heat-resistant when it cured.
