Q: How can i setup this router for xbox one? do i need a home computer to set it up?

You need to connect this router through your modem so that it can wireless broadcast to your devices, cellphone and of course your Xbox one. To setup you need to have a computer to setup your SSID name and your network pass code or password. so that when you use your devices such as Xbox one or any other devices you need to look for you SSID (The name where you would click to have access to your internet) and then whatever password you have set enter it and then hit connect you should be able to connect to the router. Also you need to access the routers program DUMAOS dashboard which is where you could program your router to either go on the 2.4GHz or 5Ghz. So yes it is recommended to have a laptop or a desktop to setup your Netgear router. If not sure DIY you can look up youtube for tutorial to how to setup the wireless router or you can call your local ISP.

Most wireless devices will not pick more than 300 mbps with some exceptions. Desktop computers will pick up the hardwire speed, but certain consoles or tvs will not reach those speeds.

This router would be overkill for 70 down and 5 up. It can handle much more than that.

Depends on your needs but it provides a fast connection yes. Also depends on what kind of interent you have.
