Nexus DiskTwin Disk Vibration Dampener - Black

Very happy with these dampeners. My WD Black HDD is very fast, but very loud and distracting. Upon receiving these dampeners I was a little perplexed as to how they would fit, until I realized they are designed for the 5.25" slot (the same as the DVD drive). Unfortunately I can only access one side of the bay so I was unable to secure the drive on both sides. As a result it was hanging on one side and touching the bottom of the bay. I solved the problem by cutting a small square out of an old mouse pad and slipping it between the drive and the bay on the side without screws. The result was a snug, cushioned fit. I booted up the PC and was amazed - 80% of the drive noise has been eliminated. Now I have fast, QUIET drive. Highly recommended especially for the WD Black series of drives.

Used this on a WD 2TB black drive that generates a lot of noise. While obviously nothing will make a hard drive SSD silent, this cut the noise down by well over half. Installation wasn't difficult, though one of the screws attaching it to my computer case did not fit properly. No big deal as the others went in perfectly to compensate. It also took a little effort to get the drive with these dampers to squeeze into the 5.25 bay, but that's okay as a snug fit is desirable.

Seems well built but the rubber is to hard so it doesn't absorb add much vibration as it needs to.

Easy to install. Really cuts down on the vibration and noise of my 1 TB storage drive. I will use these again in future builds.
