Excellent!
This stuff is not very cheap, but I took a chance on it because of other good reviews and I'm glad I did! It is so easy to apply I don't think you could possibly screw it up! I used it on a dining room table I made for my mother in law and it turned out very nice. It self levels VERY well. I applied it with a cheapish natural bristle brush and within seconds you can watch the streaks disappear, I guess because it is rather thin, but it builds a decent amount in 2 or 3 coats. It did turn out a little more glossy than I expected, but supposedly it fades over time. Durability is also very good, I would say not too far from polyurethane. And like the name implies, it locks water out. When we wipe the table with a wet rag the water just beads up. This really is the perfect finish for almost anything in my opinion. I'm glad I did my research. I just wish it was easier to find!

Used on Maple, Kitchen countertops - pleased with its durability
-UpdateA good wood finish and holds up well through the years. Used it on some Maple, kitchen countertops several years ago and it has held up just fine. Withstands being wiped down with damp cotton cloth extensively, without issue. Pleased with the durability of this wood finish. It does take several days however for it to cure out thoroughly after application.

Better ask a friend who has this coating on their floors before you make the leap
It looked good for awhile. Keeps a film after its moped. We tried everything to stop the dirty like film including Waterlox special soap. I am going to scuff it and over coat with poly. Big waste of time and money

Beautiful finish but not durable for kitchen countertops
Beautiful finish but not durable for kitchen countertops. I applied 8 coats to 8/4 edge grain walnut and was impressed by the sheen -- much more attractive than polys I've used before. But I've had numerous problems with staining -- from fruit juices, from newsprint -- and they cannot be spot corrected. In hindsight, I should have used a poly topcoat or simply a good poly like General Finishes.

IS OK
As a final finish Waterlox works OK, but I like Minwax Wipe On Poly better because it goes on easy & gives a harder finish.

Tough, durable, and beautiful wood sheen
I renovated my kitchen and installed wood counter tops last fall. I used Waterlox because of the reviews and it is bio-safe. I followed the directions, which were hard because you have to wait 24-hours between each coat and then seven days after the last coat to put anything on the surface. This product is amazing. It made the wood look so beautiful and spills just wipe off. It is also heat tolerant. I had called the company about the absolute proper way to use the product and even though they sensed my need to hurry the project, they explained to me why it was so important to follow the directions exactly. They were so helpful and answered all my questions during several calls to them. I would never use any other product for wood protection.

vinyl vomit
I am so regretful that i put this toxic plastic sludge on my quarter sawn white oak floors. I would never take the time to write a review unless i was seriously disappointed. There are many reasons to steer clear of this stuff. The toxic smell and the price tag are a couple of themm but the real problem with this stuff is the plastic-like coating it leaves on the wood, unless this is what you are going for. Don't believe the marketing that makes claims of a "natural looking finish", its actually the opposite.
