Really good book not what I expected but to me does what I needed

Some good ideas to spark creativity
I first came across this artist on youtube and decided to get her book. She gives full instructions for twenty projects. They are easy to follow and you produce beautiful works of art at the end. Recommended.

Good, but not inspiring for a beginner
As a beginner in abstract art, I found this book quite good, with some nice enough projects. Many of the example paintings failed to inspire me though (I think I need more drama in my paintings!) and the initial focus on making my own paints felt wrong for someone at the beginning of their journey.

A joyful inspiration!
Given to me for my Birthday, so delighted to finally have this book. Petra's enthusiasm, joy and acquiescence to paint's desire to be in charge has enthralled and inspired me for years, her Sunday videos are beutiful and the best start to the week. Her paintings are intriguing, ecstatic, serene and breathtaking, to have her sat on one side in this book is a delight. She has genius in her application, expertise in her encyclopedic knowledge and is contagiously embracing of the moment, a real force of Nature in painting. Be prepared to raid your kitchen! Amazing, highly recommended.

Great book for those who want to learn how to paint
I started painting in 2011, just to have something to do because of the vires, started out paint by numbers. This was ok but wanted to do something more creative. Watched you tube videos for hours and tried everything, really everything. But still wanted something more creative other than spinning a canvas. Found several artist who paint free hand and tried these and they turned out great (sold some). But wanted more of how to do different things and why, this book does just that, great for anyone who wants to learn how to paint and yes you can watch her her videos but this book explains why and how. Had to read some things twice to understand what she was talking about but find this well worth the money. Other artist have books but I do not want to down load and print myself and use all that paper. Like this book!
