Gino Development 02-0202 TruePower Brake Line Forming Tool with Pliers and Bender

These worked great! I wish I had bought them a long time ago!
After reading some of the negative reviews on this item, I was a little bit reluctant to purchase them. My biggest concern was that some people wrote that the pliers had an uneven jaw alignment and they marred the brake lines or simply didn't work. I had never tried brake line pliers before. I had always used a socket in a vise and that seemed to work out alright. But this time, I had some very difficult bends to make and very little room to access the area where I was working. I was absolutely amazed at how easy these pliers made the job, for me. I love my tools and have tons of them. But these pliers now hold a special spot on my tool bench for saving me so much time and aggravation. They arrived on time, in perfect condition and they DID NOT damage the brake lines in any way. Also, the jaw was in perfect alignment. I would buy from this seller again.

Cast handles are misaligned, off center.
Maybe I received the "Big Lots or Dollar Store" version from China.Cast handles are misaligned, off center. The product photo as advertised shows perfect round holes, when closed. Not what I received.Reluctant to try, but did. Causes deep cuts in tubing.I purchased this from Amazon and compared reviews, my best choice was wrong. Also, Not two day Prime delivery but three.Photos to follow.Seller welcome to comment.

It's better than nothing.
For light radii, this tool is helpful to hold lines in place while bending around its curved face by hand. If you try to bend lines with the tool rather than around the tool, you will be disappointed. The tolerances are simply too loose to prevent kinking. That being said, I'm glad I bought this tool, because using it as a form for hand-bending is still far cleaner and easier than bending by hand alone.

Helpful to have
The description states, "Shaped jaws bend tubing without distortion". I did not do any of the line forming for the vehicle yet but did test these pliers on a bunch of scrap line and you CAN distort and kink line with these if not careful. The first few bends were fine and then I got a kink. so they are not fool proof. What does work good for fairly tight 90 degree bends and cost about the same as these pliers is a Titan mini tubing bender also found here on Amazon. I bought one of those at the same time and played with it as well and it worked great.

Needs Better Quality Control
As previously reviewed by others, the jaws do not line up when the pliers are closed resulting in a crimped brake line. The reason mine did not line up was due to the hinge or pivot pin was smaller diameter than the hole allowing slop between each half of the pliers. I needed the tool for a brake line job and elected to repair by installing the correct size pin rather than roll the dice on an exchange having the same problem. On a positive note - It now makes great looking and very tight bends.

I wish i had known about these sooner.... they rock!
I destroyed over 50 bucks worth of brake lines trying to bend master cylinder to distribution block lines for my 1067 scout and read about these in an article online. the cheap rounded benders you get from harbor freight and the like are garbage compared to these. they have a nice black coating that did not come off while bending over 50 feet of brake line. some were very complex ? shapes and they all came out flawlessly without kinking.I wish I had known about these sooner they were a life saver

Simple, easy, great bender
Tight bends made easy. Best bender I've ever used and the simplest. I was able to make sharp compound bends without any creases. It does leave a mark where it grips the line but very minimal. Was able to rebend existing lines and bend new lines exactly as I wanted. And tighter bends than I could ever make with my other benders. No reason to use any other.

This is a 5 star, sub $20 bender
If you will be bending brake lines 20 hours per week, go buy a $200 professional tool. You will not be happy with this one. If you are a backyard mechanic that wants to save a few bucks by making your own lines on an as needed basis, this is your 5 star tool.

Pliers misaligned?
Pliers were completely out of allignment? How these passed quality control at the factory is a mystery?

Perfect for making tight bends without kinking!
Get this for making really small diameter bends in brake lines! Worked flawlessly and didn't leave any marks on my brake line as others experienced. For a Chinese tool this one is really well made and the holes align perfectly when the pliers are closed. I used a small piece of the poly v coated steel line and the Titian 3/16" inline bender for flaring. I used the TruePower 02-0202 Brake Line Forming Tool with Pliers and Bender

Fantastic!
So quick and easy to get the results you need while routing the brake line through whatever direction you want, with no kinks. My other pipe benders are probably going to be in my next yard sale.
