Vornado 723DC Energy Smart Full-Size Air Circulator Fan with Variable Speed Control, White, Large

I live in the back bedroom of a fairly large house. The front of the house has excellent air conditioning, but the back where I live does not. To keep bills down, 100% of cooling, and almost all heating for my bedroom is accomplished by constantly circulating house air into my room using a floor fan which runs day and night. Never shutting the fan off places high demands on it. We just went through a very hot summer, last two days were mega hot scorchers, but my room has easily stayed cool using the Vornado 723.I've used the 723 exactly one month, and it's an understatement to say I'm fully satisfied. I'm really proud of my new fan. I worried for months which fan to get, because I knew my old ones were wearing out. I strongly debated whether I should get the Vornado 293, because it's rated by Vornado to blow 685 CFM on high speed, vs 583 CFM for the 723. But the 723 is significantly less expensive. I decided for my purposes, since I'm not in a work environment, and the 293 was going to cost me 32.5% more than the 723, I didn't think the extra price was worth gaining another 100 CFM. If the 293 had a 10 year warranty I would have bought it, but both the 723 & 293 Vornado fans have an identical 5 year warranty.Re noise level, I've found the 723 to be very easy on the ears, even on high (I run it mostly on high during the hot summer). Months ago I bought one of those squirrel cage fans, which are typically used to dry up wet floors. That did move a lot of air, but the noise was so harsh on my ears it went right back to the store. This Vornado 723 has been a real pleasure to use, with the excellent and extremely adequate air movement for my bedroom, combined with a relatively low noise level.I also like that it looks pretty nice. Better than that, it doesn't fall over easily like my previous floor fans. The stand which supports the 723 is very sturdy. I have absolutely nothing to complain about with this fan. It's an important tool for keeping me cool!

Never had a Vornado. I was curious. Here we are. This is quite a nice fan! Simple, no smart features, one dial for control, nice. I love the continuous control. If you get a Vornado, make sure it has the full continuous control knob. Even at its lowest setting the fan is moving a little air. It’s very quiet and just has a slight fan motor buzz. At 1/4 or 1/2 power you can just hear the air flowing. It’s loud at full throttle, but I doubt you’d have a need for it unless you’re clearing out smoke because it’s got some REAL power. I’m coming from a fan that kinda just moved air to one that’s moving photos and plants from across the room. Very impressive.The price is a little high, but the quality is there. Good metal stand, solid plastics, nice smooth dial and a separate power cable which I appreciate. Made in the USA of USA and imported parts. My favorite part, the WARRANTY. 10 years. My bedroom fan, it’s awesome, but its warranty is 1 year. 1.5 years now that I extended the warranty. 10 whole years with the USA made Vornado! That’s confidence in their product and I’m confident it’ll outlast that mark no problem.

This Vornado air circulator does a fantastic job of moving air around! I live in a tiny second floor one-bedroom apartment in an 100-year-old building. I have a portable air conditioner which should adequately cool the apartment, but on the hottest days does not due to poor air flow caused by the odd configuration of the rooms. I was using an oscillating tower fan, but it didn't do a very good job of moving air around. The Vornado solved this problem easily -- I now have cool air flowing throughout the apartment and am very comfortable even on nearly 100-degree days. The Vornado seems to be energy-efficient as there was a negligible increase in my electric bill (about $1) for the one-month billing period I have been using it. The Vornado, while not silent, is extremely quiet -- I barely hear it even when I stand next to it. Price-wise, the Vornado is a bit spendy compared to similar air circulators, but I consider it worth the extra expense since it did such a great job of solving my problem. I'm very happy with this purchase and highly recommend the Vornado.

This fan is small enough to be conveniently out of the way and yet it really moves a lot of air. On “high” there is a nice amount of white noise.

The fan is great, and uses very little power compared to its comparable equivalent by Vornado. My only gripe with the item itself is the sound of the fan is very different than a normal Vornado fan. It has a very defined pitch at different intervals of speed and, sometimes it’s to the point where it’s almost unbearable. It’s a loud humming constant pitch. I think this is a problem on the DC super efficient fans as I have a smaller version that does the exact same thing. Buyer beware if that bothers you I would say take the chance and then return it if you can’t stand it.

I purchased this fan last month, and just purchased a 2nd one. It has outperformed all other fans I've ever tried. Yes, this one is quite expensive - but the tower models are not cheap either and I just had a couple of those malfunction electronically. This fan is simple, manual controls, and the design is so elegant. It truly does circulate the air in a surprisingly cooling way. You don't need the fan blowing straight on you! It makes the entire room cool! Finally I'm not waking up sweaty at night! I've been carrying my single Vornado back and forth from the living room to the bedroom, ha ha - not that hard to do as it is portable. But I decided to go for it and get a 2nd. I'm super pleased. Well worth the price.

Este ventilado lo tengo tengo funcionando permanentemente por ya unas tres semanas. Funciona bien y es silencioso a bajas velocidades. Solo aumento la potencia cuando salgo de la habitación para circular el aire hacia afuera a través de una ventana.Una preocupación que tenia es con las mascotas, ya que el ventilador esta muy pocos centímetros del suelo. Mis perros no interactúan, ni se ven afectados por el ventilador.Los defectos ya los han mencionados en otras reseña y están relacionados con la fuente de poder: Es muy fácil que se desconecte la fuente de poder del ventilador. La fuente de poder es negra cuando el ventilador es blanco (muchos fabricantes entregan fuentes blancas con sus productos blancos).

I use this to circulate air upstairs, my house has really bad stratification due to the AC vents being mounted low on the wall. For that task it works amazingly to get cold air off the ground and distributed evenly.This thing is overbuilt, and on low speed can feel it from almost 30 feet away. Along the walls you can actually feel air gently moving around.The motor they use isn’t a tiny little 45 record player motor you get in cheaper fans, it’s a proper PSC motor that’s the size of a soda can (apparently it’s a standard size that can be replaced if it ever fails years from now). The heavier duty components, and the fact the 623, and 723 are still made in the USA is what you are paying extra for. Mine also arrived perfectly in balance, no vibration to speak of when it’s running.If silence is what you are looking for, you might want to spend a little more and get the DC version, I wished the low speed was a little slower. It’s not silent but it’s a nice “whoosh” sound with a low hum from the blades, medium and high are a bit loud. Would work really nice for those that like white noise for sleeping.I’m also hypersensitive, so the fact that this fan makes no motor noise, and a pleasant sound is nice. Would highly recommend for someone that needs a heavy duty fan that has to run constantly, I can see this lasting for many years.

Excellent fan. Probably the most powerful fan I have ever been in front of. It can really put out some serious CFM. the construction of the fan is very solid. it is made in USA. the casing is a matte ish plastic and very sturdy. The knob to adjust power is very smooth, unlike other fans it is just Off and Maximum and any level between. Medium/Max (7/10) gets pretty loud but as others have said, its just the Air moving (literally impossible to move the amount of air so fast wuthout making noise).There are no other features. no sleep timer, no oscillation (not needed). no auto on/off. just point and power.Unfortunately I cant justify the high cost for a fan (226$ CAD) and had to return the product. It really is a beast of a fan though

Just set this fan up last night. I live in a small, 600 sq ft apartment, which gets super hot in the evenings when it's sunny. In the summers it can easily get up to 26 or 27 degrees Celsius. I have a portable a/c in my bedroom, but evenings in my living room can be pretty sweaty, even with my old $9.99 cheapo fan. Last night I tried this fan for the first time and I actually had to move it further away from me because I was TOO cool! I bought the unit with the small floor stand because I need the fan to be able to point downwards off my breakfast bar, and not many fans do that. The three speeds are great, with the highest speed being a very powerful wind, and the lowest speed being a cooling breeze. The noise level, I found, was definitely better than the cheapo fan that I had before, while moving a lot more air. I don't really care about the noise that much because when you're moving a lot of air it's always going to create some sort of noise - it's to be expected. The lowest setting was very quiet. All in all, I'm very glad I splurged on this fan because it's going to keep me a lot cooler than my old fan! Summer nights will be much more tolerable now.

La mejor compra para el calor. Simplemente vornado es increíble, tengo una chiquito y el aire circula por toda la habitación. Y este es más grande y pues muchísimo mejor, refresca toda la habitación y no necesitas tener el aire directamente, aunque este volteado para otro lado refresca increíble. Lo único es que es ruidoso, a mí no me afecta, pero puede que alguien no soporte el ruido
