[New] Gel Cooling Pad for Pillows, King Size (26 x 16 in)

Did not work, absorbed and seemed to hold onto the heat....was only cool initially....total waste of money

For some time, I had been using a water filled pad and, despite its faults, found it to be a useful device. When said pad had to be discarded, I decided to try a gel pad, and purchased this one, based upon its reviews. I can't say I was happy with the decision, but here are the pros and cons of the product. Pros: good size -- it fit over my king sized pillow with a bit of room to spare; it stayed mostly in place between the pillow and the pillowcase; and, it wasn't uncomfortable. Cons: very little cooling benefit. I understand that many users might refrigerate the product before use, but I do not need the cooling effect at bedtime, but more when I wake up during the night uncomfortably warm. As I have no desire to get up, go to the refrigerator to get the pad, and then insert it into the pillowcase during prime sleeping time, I must rely on the heat deflecting properties of the gel, at room temperature. Trouble is, the gel does not begin to accomplish this. I timed it; when I put my head on the gel pad, it was mildly cool for about 2 minutes, at which point the gel around my head had warmed to be scarcely different than my head. I guess I will need to go back to the water-filled pad, with all its faults, and just replace it often.Update: About 2 weeks after I posted this review, the seller contacted me, in an effort to make me happy. I appreciate the effort. When I purchase an item sight unseen, I assume the risk, meaning I won't return a product just because I am unsatisfied with it. A defective product? Sure, I'll return that. However, as this gel cooling pad seems to be in perfect condition, but just does not work for me, I accept the risk and the loss. Thus, while I cannot, in good conscience, highly recommend the product, I can give 5 stars to the sellers and would have no qualms about ordering from them again.

Delightful idea that allows cooling your existing pillow without buying a new pillow. Hard to find in King Size. Lifelong issues of sleeping hot, and this works well. Footprint is much larger than what is available on the memory foam pillow on amazon with a cooling gel feature. Only reason for 4 versus 5 stars is the nubbins for keeping the pillow in place could use some strengthening. A good shake of the pillow sets things back in place. The seller was politely on the spot inquiring of product feedback and I shared my observationsI'm going to order another of these to put on top of the memory foam pillow that came with its own, mediocre, cooling pad.

Was hoping this would work instead of having to buy a whole new ("cool" ) pillow. It goes underneath your pillow case. At first, it was very nicely cool (almost cold!) and seemed to help me fall asleep better. But, just like a regular pillow, when you wake up a few hours later, it's not cool anymore. I found myself moving my head to the far side of the pillow to keep cool. Other issues: Even though the little dots on the backside are supposed to keep it in place underneath your pillow case, I had to keep re-positioning it, as it kept sliding down. It also does not feel soft when you lay your face on it - can be kind of crunchy underneath the pillowcase, although it can be smoothed out some. I am continuing to use it, but it is not ideal. I will probably just have to fork over the money to get an actual cool pillow.

Stayed cool all night long on my pillow. I was able to sleep without waking up from being too warm. Thank you so much for a good night's sleep.

Stiff. Sticks to pillow cases or under sheets and was not efective after first hr.

I bought this to put under the fitted sheet on the mattress to help my father stay cool at night as his chief complaint is that the bed is too hot to sleep. The very first night it worked so well that he called me in the morning to say the bed was too cold (it was a cold night), we will take it off the bed until the weather warms up a bit, but so far we are very happy. I can't speak to it's effectiveness as a pillow insert, but it definitely worked wonders to keep his chest area cool. I will likely buy another one for my husband as we were very impressed with how cool it is.
