Prior to installation, a professional cutter should cut a square hole in the desired location of the receptacle. Junction Box Dimensions: 4.0*4.0*2.2 inches Receptacle and Cover Dimensions: 4.8*4.8*3.0 inches (when closed) Any excess wires should be pulled out of the box or made flat on the bottom of the box, to avoid interfering with the opening mechanism. An additional plastic plate is provided to prevent the entry of dirt when installing the junction box. If you install into a small space make sure you have full clearance behind before you buy. The mechanism needs space to swing and clear and running cables. Made with a high grade metal the look stylish when closed in the floor and sleek enough for the vac to glide over no issue. Very easy to install and although a tad expensive once they are in they are well worth the money.
