Traffic were one of the premier architects of the acid rock movement in the sixties and blossomed further into one of the most important super groups of the seventies. Their recordings are the soundtrack to a generation of music enthusiasts that continues to this day and will forever stand the test of time.In 1968, the legendary founding members Stevie Winwood, Dave Mason, Jim Capaldi and Chris Wood went back to the recording studio after releasing two smash albums with Dear Mr. Fantasy and Traffic (FRM-9081) and continued their winning streak with their groundbreaking third LP Last Exit.Known for their superior progressive rock, jazz and pop influences, the multi-faceted music of Last Exit offers non-stop entertainment which truly illustrates the legendary talent of this English quartet. Whether standout tracks from the pens of Dave Mason like his classic rock opener Just For You or the prog-rock Winwood and Capaldi s classic Withering Tree, the Last Exit album has surely earned its currency over the years as one of the more important albums of their highly embraced musical catalog.Filled with the piano driven melodies and vocals of the legendary Stevie Winwood, the hard rocking vocals and guitar work of the masterful Dave Mason, the explosive sax breaks by the late Chris Wood and the power drumming and vocals of the late great Jim Capaldi, the Last Exit album will always be one of the most revered albums in their extraordinary career.Even further classics ensued with each of the hard rockin seven tracks that make up this masterwork...how about the smash sounds of Shanghai Noodle Factory or another Traffic classic Medicated Goo, plus more Windwood/Capaldi/Mason collaborations like Something s Got A Hold Of My Toe...In addition to all of these brilliant tracks, there are two lengthy live performances captured at the Fillmore West with the jam vibes of Feelin Good or the Bobby Blue Bland belter Blind Man. No matter what track is your favorite, it s all about Traffic, classic Traffic, and it just doesn t get much better than this.It is now with much anticipation and honor to continue the Traffic/Friday Music 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series with our forth installment with their monumental rock classic Last Exit.Mastered impeccably by Joe Reagoso from the Island Records tapes at Friday Music Studios , Traffic s Last Exit album is a truly one of the most important audiophile vinyl releases of this year.To make this an even more enjoyable limited edition happening, for a very short time, we are also including a very rare gatefold cover, which includes the original UK gatefold photos of Dave Mason, Stevie Winwood, Chris Wood and Jim Capaldi, to go along with this first time 180 Gram Audiophile release!Look to the Friday Music label for more Traffic masterpieces on 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl in the very near future. Last Exit review
This is the one item from the Traffic collection that I never had. And since I have most of the other Traffic works (from Mr. Fantasy all the way to When The Eagle Flies), I decided to add it to the collection. I had heard it before back in my college days, but had forgotten how good it was. Typical Traffic sound while Dave Mason was with the band, but you can hear the beginnings of what was to come with John Barleycorn. Not too many tracks, but what is offered is top quality. And now my Traffic collection is complete.

Unsurpassed!
I am a devoted Traffic fan and my love for their incredible music seems to grow stronger as time goes on. I saw the original Traffic trio perform in 1968 and still count it as one of the greatest of my live concert experiences ever. I have devoured all of the fantastic Traffic Remasters previously and Last Exit sounds as good or better than the others. I cranked up Shanghai in my car and was completely blown away by the perfection of writing, playing, singing and sound of this masterpiece. I wish there was more "hidden treasure" Traffic in the vault for future release but the fact that there probably isnt only makes the available jewels even that more precious.

Marco UnderSong on "Last Exit" Traffiic
Marco UnderSong on "Last Exit" Traffic This album is half live and half studio ...and both are excellent ! I have always been impressed by Chris Wood's sax and flute, but what has always been most impressive is the song writing team of Jim Capaldi (lyrics) and Steve Winwoods )(music) ... Not to mention Steve Winwoods vocals ( rated by Rolling Stone) within the top 50 of all time)

A temporary hiatus, actually
Two late singles of the first era of Traffic (pre-1970), a few studio throwaways, and two live performances from the Winwood/Wood-Capaldi tour (after Mason left for the final time). The latter features a brilliantly conceived version of "Feelin' Good" (made famous by Nina Simone) that doesn't quite succeed, but remains a highlight of the band's history; the main reason I bought the original album and this CD remastering.

It's good for the Traffic fan.
Medicated Goo is, to me, the highlight of the album. The circumstances that lead up to the release of Last Exit is very disappointing. You can tell Steve was trying to split. This is a album put together by the label and not so much by the band.

Good music.
The absolute best version of Feeling Good you will ever hear. Blind Man also a great jazzy blues tune. Other songs are reminiscent of the pychedelic era. Would recommend this record.

completes my traffic collection...
I have been a huge traffic fan since early '70s. This one oozes vintage Traffic. It's probably my least fave (Mr Fantasy #1) but Shanghai Noodle Factory & Medicated Goo are great.

The seller sent me the goods in excellent quality. The shipment of goods was completely new. The goods were delivered quickly and was not injured. I am a collector of the end of 60 CD and 70 years old years and the trade I am very satisfied. Thank you very much Otmar

Great songs, but mute emphasis!
It's OK. The remastering hasn't added a great deal! Much as I looked forward to the original release, the recording really doesn't do justice to each song!
