It is a very light weight paper, best for single sided print. We use these to print invitation text that is then mounted on a heavier paper stock. These light weight seed embedded printer safe sheets are best for single sided printing. They will accept laser or inkjet printing on most machines and should be hand fed. The seeds are so tiny that your equipment is safe from harm. Use these to write a letter to your favorite gardener or to print directions to your special events. Be sure to include a note to let the recipient know the paper will bloom if planted. Our seed paper has a wildflower seed mix embedded in the paper. The seeds are: Petunia, Mint, Snapdragon, Daisy, Beardtongue, Poppy and Chamomile. The plants tolerate partial shade and need 4 hours a day of direct sunlight. Will grow to about 3'. This handmade lotka paper is made in the highlands of Nepal by rural craftspeople in an environmentally friendly process with 50% recycled content. The raw material for our paper is the Daphne bush. It is farmed and harvested from 3-4 year old plants that are cut down and stripped of their bark. The plant is not destroyed when cut down, it regenerates from the root. The cane like stick, once its bark is removed is dried and used to heat the villager’s homes, to provide fuel for cooking and also for the production of the paper. All of the water used in the paper production is reclaimed and reused. The bark is beaten by hand and boiled to break it down to a pulp (where it is mixed in with recycled pulp and paper scrap collected from the card and envelope manufacturing process) that is then pored into screens to form the sheets. These sheets are then dried in the sun. The whole process is not only earth friendly but also provides a large community with a healthy enterprise. If you plant this paper in a pot, or in your garden please cover with just 1/8” of soil and keep moist until established. There are many things that will influence the success of your planting that are out of our control. We can assure you that our paper has an abundance of live seeds embedded in it. Just because you don't see watermelon sized seeds, does not mean that the paper you received is seedless. The seeds we use average more than three million seeds per pound. They are tiny! Our paper is the most tested seed paper stock in the country. It is tested by us, tested by the seed supplier, tested by the USDA (twice) and tested by the department of agriculture in Nepal (twice). I’m guessing that the people who aren’t able to get these to grow aren’t following the directions. To my knowledge these seeds are GMO free but they are not certified as there are no organizations policing the wildflower seed industry for us to pay to have them certified as GMO free. **Q: We are making wedding invitations and they are double-sided with color.
