Amplicom PowerTel 701 Extender Amplified Cordless Handset (95408)

I purchased the phone for my elderly mother who has a hearing disability and wears hearing aids. I wanted to try an amplified phone to help her hear better. They worked just as described and the volume got extremely loud. I would definitely recommend for for anyone needing loud! I had to return them as she did not like the tone. I am sure it has more to do with her disability than the phone. I thought the tone and quality were excellent.

Don't buy this phone. It is complicated to program, user unfriendly, and does not work as advertised. Half the time the unit does not work. The voice goes digital or you hear nothing. They finally broke after just 90 days of use.

Ok. I did not buy this phone. But being disabled I received this exact phone through our county disability advocate. This phone is great. Can be confusing at first to get the ringer and sound programed to your likeness. U can turn the sound off and just use the blinking light when it rings. Perfect for people who have hearing problems. If u don't like the lights u can program it to talk to you. Like when u push one. A female voice will say "one". I turned it off. Got annoying for me. But if u have trouble seeing it would really help. It will even announce who is calling you. Be sure and read the set up book that comes with it. Helped me alot. The ringers can be set to really loud. And lime right now I usually hear pretty well. But from allergies one of my ears is stopped up. So when. I use that ear I push the boost button. Works great.
