Great, very unique feeling controller
Controller feels a bit larger than what I am used to (Razer Wolverine Tourny edition). The thumb sticks on the Thrustmaster sit quite a bit higher than normal. Buttons feel firm, and bounce back well. The trigger stoppers do not make a huge difference. Triggers still have to go down quite a ways than other controllers i've used. LB and RB buttons feel crisp. Love the ability to customize the controller layout, or throw on some difference color combos. Cons: Controller is loud, meaning all buttons make annoying noises according to my wife. I usually have headphones on so it doesn't bother me. Controller also gets slippery when my hands begin to sweat. No rubber or friction to increase grip. Menu and Start buttons are so high up on the controller, I'm often bumping the left thumb stick to hit menu button. Causes problems in few games. Overall, i'm very glad this is my main controller now. Although it feels different than most controllers, transitioning to this was smooth. Rocket League rank remained the same. Halo Infinite's rank I am sitting two divisions higher than before, which I think is because of higher thumbsticks and aiming just feels more "pure".

A Great Game Controller With A few Caveats.
The Thrustmaster eSwap X Pro Controller is a great controller for the most part. The one place where it could use a little help is with the joysticks. They wear out a little sooner than some on the market do. Fortunately, there is a really great fix for this! There is a third party part which you can order which you can use to replace the joysticks without having to replace all of the joystick, whether you are using the sticks which came with your Thrustmaster eSwap X Pro Controller, or if you are using one of the colour packs. You can find the third party replacement part on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09H7PVZMY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The replacement part will also eventually wear out, just as all joysticks usually do, but it will take a lot longer for it to do so. The replacement part will make the joysticks much stiffer, so if you have unusually weak thumbs, you may need to chose a different option. The box which the Thrustmaster eSwap X PRO Controller comes in is really nice, and it's that way for a reason. When your gaming session is done, you should put your Thrustmaster eSwap X Pro Controller back in its box, and fit the stiff foam part over the two joysticks in the way that it originally came. It has a cut-out which fits over the switch controller in such a way that it can't be inserted incorrectly. The purpose of this packing piece is to ensure that the sticks are perfectly centred, and that neither spring has any extra tension on it. This will not only ensure that your joysticks last longer, but it will also ensure that your joysticks will remain tensioned properly even over long periods of time. The eSwap X PRO is both a very high quality controller, but also a rather expensive one too, so you'll want to give it the best care possible. Initially, the Thrustmaster eSwap X PRO Controller is more expensive than most controllers, but if you replace the spring box (the mechanical part only, not the whole joystick), you'll eventually recoup that extra expense by not having to buy a new controller every time the joysticks wear out. The thing to remember is that unless you want to customize your colours, you should never buy Thrustmaster replacement sticks. Always buy the Epindon Thrustmaster eSwap Pro Controller Replacement Stick Module Kit instead (see above link). Summary: If you do not use a game controller very often, then this joystick is probably not going to be for you. But if you use a controller a lot (almost daily) then this is definitely the game controller for you. If you game a lot using a controller, this controller will save you money over time if you use the Epindon Thrustmaster eSwap Pro Controller Replacement Stick Module Kit when your joysticks wear out, especially if you put it away in its original packing after each play session. Overpriced and frequently having issues
I purchased this in February 2024, when I first got it, it was awesome. everything worked good and felt good. about two months one of the sticks fell off. No, not the module, the actual stick on the module. It looked like it was not correctly glued on or something from the factory. I was able to click it back onto the module, but shortly there after began getting random stick inputs, it was worse than stick drift. I contacted Thrustmaster for warranty repair. Nearly a month after several emails and sending many videos showing the issue and downloading their software to show I wasn't making it up they sent me two replacement modules. I'm on the second one now as one of them had the same issue, the stick was not seated/glued properly. In the last month the "B" button has come loose and gets stuck sometimes, and the sticks are again giving random inputs. I am not going to go through warranty again. For the price of this controller, It is not acceptable for it to last less than a year, I'm not throwing the thing around, I'm about as hard on it as I assume most gamers are. I am tempted to try their new lower priced HEART controller, but I am also not really wanting to risk another failure. Stick to racing/flight peripherals Thrustmaster, its what you do best.

Well-built controller, first impressions
Posting this an hour after receiving the control to record my initial thoughts, will try to provide updates at one week and one month. I'm mostly basing my 5 stars on the build quality. I feel that other aspects that determine how much you like a controller can be pretty subjective. What I want to give are my initial thoughts, the important things that strike me about the controller compared to others. First is that the controller is quite large. Xbox controllers are kind of known for their size, and Thrustmaster really heard that and said "Hold my beer" on this one. For me personally this isn't a problem because my hands are very large (the long, thin finger type) but it gives me the feeling that it's *borderline* a problem, which is remarkable since I've rarely met anyone with hands larger than my own. I think that if you have small hands, you will feel like an 8-year old holding this controller. Next is that the build/shape are also quite different from an Xbox controller, which you may be able to tell from pictures. This is most noticeable in your hands by how much more the bottoms of the triggers stick out from the controller. They aren't any longer, but the angle between the flat plane of the face of the controller and the line made by the trigger is wider. This makes it feel significantly different in your hands because your index/middle finger will not wrap around the trigger at point you're used to. Similarly the bumpers feel very different, they aren't contoured to the grip of the controller and they aren't as wide, so the tip of your finger hangs over the edge of the button. Next the sticks. I was actually surprised, in the description Thrustmaster claims that the sticks have "33% more resistance", but they are most definitely less resistant than my standard Xbox wireless. This probably isn't a defect in my sticks as both of them are like that. Because they're lighter/less resistant, in-game I'm way less accurate with them so far, BUT even with that I can tell that the sticks themselves are more accurate as far as detection goes. I really like the capability to switch between concave and convex caps, I immediately switched to convex and I've been really enjoying it so far for aerial control in Rocket League. Some final quick initial thoughts. The Back and Start buttons are WAY to far up the controller. I use Back to reset shots in RL training, and now on this controller I can't do it without shifting my ENTIRE left hand grip and removing my index finger from the left trigger. The face buttons (ABXY) are advertised and reviewed as being responsive and tactile, I find this to be true but I was surprised at how much force is required to get an input out of them. I use X to roll left in the air in Rocket League, and after trying for the first time found myself not pushing hard enough during an aerial and just staying still like an idiot. I think that will just take some getting used to. Finally, the material that the controller grip is made out of does not breathe nearly as well as a standard XBOX controller, and after 30 minutes of play I was already experiencing the urge to lift my fingers off the grip to prevent sweating. It probably sounds like I'm unhappy with the controller, I'm not, these are just the major points and differences I've noticed immediately. Most of them are the sort of thing that just take getting used to, which is why none of them really detract from my star rating of the controller as a whole. That rating is based solely on the build quality of the product, which is excellent. Solid, good weight, sturdy, precise. 2 hours later edit: I forgot about the rear buttons! Other reviews are critical of them, and I don't blame them. They definitely aren't perfect. Some reviewers say that they're placed in an unnatural position, for me this is only partially true. My fingers naturally rest quite near the bottom button on each side, so it's not much trouble to adjust my natural rest slightly, except for me left hand. My right hand fingers are coordinated enough to hit either button on their side, but my left hand fingers can only easily hit the bottom one and not very well. The bottom button is lipped at an angle, supposedly to prevent your fingertip from sliding over it when you push the button in, but because the buttons are made out of normal plastic this isn't very effective. It would be much better if they were made or topped with the same material as the controller grips. I may do some research and see if there's a way I can make them grippier. Finally, might be worth mentioning that I actually find it easier to hit the bottom button with my first knuckle since my left hand is so weak. If you're having problems, maybe try that. EDIT 4/30/22 - Removing 1 star from my review. 3 weeks after purchase and I'm already having issues, hooray! The issue isn't catastrophic, so I'm not going to customer support yet, but I probably should. Basically out of nowhere the right trigger started "dropping out" or in other words randomly not detecting input when fully held down. I noticed it in Rocket League when I was trying to just drive forward next to the ball and my car's gas suddenly started giving out. When testing in free play (by just holding the trigger down) probably 70% of the time my car accelerates normally but the other 30% the throttle stops completely for random amounts of time, sometimes only for a split second but sometimes long enough for my car to come to a complete stop, WHILE I AM HOLDING GAS. I also tested in the Thrustmaster configuration program and it isn't just Rocket League. It's actually kind of comical how clearly their own software illustrates the technical failure of the controller. There's a bar representing how depressed the trigger is from 0 to 100, and the trigger/bar work fully, but when the trigger is held the bar drops to 0 at random intervals for random periods of time. My temporary fix (and the reason I haven't gone to support yet) is to set the right trigger lock switch to on, meaning that a 50% depression of the trigger counts as full input. This seems to be working with no issues. Still does not raise my confidence for the future life of this controller.

UPDATE AFTER 1 YEAR: looking for a new controller, now. Was great, now one of my biggest headaches.
UPDATE 17 NOV 2022: TL;DR: I've never been rough with my equipment, nor a violent/aggressive gamer. I take very good care of my equipment, they don't receive abuse. This controller acts up by itself, randomly ignoring left stick inputs and randomly spamming LT by itself. Its simply equipment that has worn out over the course of 1 year of gentle use & moderate-length gaming sessions. Not a good look for a $150 controller. I purchased this controller on November 20th, 2021. For the first 6 months, I was IN LOVE with this controller. It was everything I'd ever hoped for. Sturdly built, decently heavy, nice features. After about 6 months, I was finding that if I pull back the left stick all the way and double click A (in rocket league, performs a back flip), it wouldn't backflip and would only double jump (like it negates the fact I'm holding back on the LS). And it'd do this EVERY single time I try, until I do one of the following. I've found only two solutions... 1) Unplug the USB cable from the back of the controller, or 2) Pull out the left stick and drop it back in. I always opt to perform #2, because it takes a negligle amount of time compared to reseating the USB cable. For what it's worth, it doesn't ALWAYS do this, but I'd say 95% of my gaming sessions, this controller will randomly act up after 10-20 minutes, and I have to reseat the LS to fix it. Usually doesn't happen more than once per session; though, occasionally during extended gaming sessions, it would happen more than once, requiring a reseat of LS each time. So, that's been annoying me for the past 6 months. But I could live with that. Took half a second. Not the end of the world. Just annoying that I had to do it in the first place. Fast forward another 4-5 months. It's now early-mid October. I notice that if I stop accelerating(Release RT) , I would rapidly come to a stop in rocket league, instead of slowly decelerating to a stop like normal. Thought it was weird, because it wasn't consistent. Sometimes I would slowly decel, other times, I'd come to a quick stop. Figured it was something with the game, that I'd never noticed before. Until I picked up playing Ark Survival Evolved, and I'd find that any time I had a zoomable weapon in my hands, it'd SPAM the every loving $&!+ out of the zoom/ADS function (LT). Picked up the new MW2 and the same thing happens there. Rapidly ADS on and off, maybe 5-10 times per second. What's most interesting, is I can set the controller on my desk, and watch it zoom in and out 50 times in 5 seconds, then it'll stop for 60 seconds. Then randomly zoom in and out again for some time, then stop for a little bit. With no intervention on the controller. No external forces acting on the left trigger. Used a controller input overlay and found that it was applying precisely 17% input to the LT, like I said, a good 5-10 times per second when it was deciding to act up. This explains why I wouldn't start reversing in rocket league (which happens when you hold LT). To reverse you need at least 20% input of the trigger to start backing up, whereas in Ark/CoD, hairpin triggers are often used, so they only require ~5-10% input to trigger the ADS function. I've never been rough with my equipment, nor a violent/aggressive gamer. I take very good care of my equipment, they don't receive abuse. This is simply equipment that has worn out over the course of 1 year. Not a good look for a $150 controller. After only 1 year with this controller, I'm disappointed I have to replace it. Won't be going with Thrustmaster again, unfortunately. The first 6 months were incredible. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Title: Love the controller. Tactile/mechanical buttons feel great Pros: -The controller is great. -The modularity is nice (despite the fact I'll likely only use 2 thumbsticks and a dpad). The fact I can swap in a new thumbstick in 0.5 seconds if/when I wear it down, is great. -They're appear durable. -The build is premium. It doesn't feel like an AfterGlow controller with that cheap, janky plastic. -The software is great. -The built in media control is nice for those using 3.5mm wired headsets. -Quick swap profiles. Cons: -It's a tad but bigger than an Xbox controller. Just barely. But it was just different enough that I could feel the difference after playing on Xbox controllers for the past 8 years. -The left and right bumpers are just a tad bit less wide than I'm used to. I was very good at sliding off the bumper directly onto the trigger on an Xbox controller. But on this controller, it's a bit more of a stretch to go from the bumper to the trigger rapidly. -The rear buttons aren't the most friendly. They're pretty small and not where my fingers naturally rest, so, to use them (which I personally don't), I kind of have to wrap my fingers around in a weird way to hit those buttons. And before people start thinking "baby hands", no. I have large hands. For me, the slight size difference and the bumper placement/size warrants one star off, because it required me to adapt a slightly different playstyle in some of my games, for a couple of months until I got used to the feeling of it. All on all though, it's a fantastic controller that really is innovative. I WOULD recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade from even an Elite Series 2 controller, like I did.

Definitely an improvement over thumbsticks (BUT DONT USE THRUSTMASTER DRIVERS!!!!)
The controller itself is really quite good. I'm into Sim Racing, but sometimes I want to just chill out with some easy Project Cars 2 or Forza Horizon. I don't want to climb into my rig and throw the VR on every time I want to do some racing. This controller is perfect for that. The thumb-wheel is a huge improvement over a traditional thumbstick. It's actually pretty intuitive. Now, it isn't as precise or as good as an actual wheel, but if you want to race on a controller, there really is no other option that compares. The negatives: 1. I'm a touch worried about the durability of the thumbwheel. No issues with it so far, of course, but it doesn't necessarily feel like the most durable thing in the world. Time will tell, and...well, its better that I can simply buy a replacement module over a whole new controller, so there are even elements of this negative that are positive. 2. Using the official thrustmaster drivers for this causes a blue screen crash. It took a super quick google search from me after it happened to understand that this is a known issue and has been a problem for YEARS. Unfortunately, this isn't surprising. A lot of the big name peripheral manufacturers seem to have no concern regarding their software and its effects on consumers (looking at you Logitech G Hub!). Thankfully, there is an easy fix. Just don't use the thrustmaster software, and if the drivers say Thrustmaster on them, delete them and let it use that standard windows xbox controller drivers. It works just as well. Overall. Worth it.

Could be one of the very best
This is probably the best premium controller I've handled in terms of component quality. I've had a few Elite 2 controllers, but the components used in this controller seem to be a cut above. The Good Button feel - Thrustmaster has been designing input devices since the dawn of PC gaming and it shows. All the buttons are very tactile (they feel mechanical), with a clear and feelable click, but it's not in any way loud and annoying (I hate the Xbox direction pads for this reason). The sound is just right. In short, the buttons are as good as it gets. Xbox controllers (even the elites) are very mushy in comparison and once you use these, it's hard to go back. One gripe I have is I do wish the button pod was also modular, as they went to the trouble of making all the other face controls modular. Sticks - Like the buttons, they are very premium feeling with no slop. These are NXG sticks which seem to be very well regarded. They also come with your choice of Xbox concave or PS convex tops (I always preferred the PS version so this is a welcome option). They also feel really durable, but in case they do go bad, it's reassuring to know that you can simply switch them out if they don't feel right. This is the inherent genius of the design that I wish was standard among all premium controllers. Aux Controls - Built in button map profile selection, and mic volume controls are icing on the cake, and I wish more controllers had them. This really elevates the controller to highest level. I'm not aware of any other controller that has these built in. Secure USB Plug protector - Thrustmaster has thought of nearly everything, and this detail shows. On a wired controller this would be one of the first things to wear out with repeated use, but thanks to the way they designed it, I can see this not ever being an issue. The Bad The Start and Select buttons - They are very far up and wide apart. You need freakishly long thumbs to use them without changing your hand position. I contend that select button is actually impossible to reach without changing your hand position no matter how long your thumbs, because of the left stick being directly in the way (in Xbox configuration). Changing the left stick position to symmetrical (PS style) helps a lot, but they are still very far away. If you use the select button often in your games, you may find this to be a deal breaker. As a result, this is the potential deal breaker for me (more on this later). Remapping - You can use the very comprehensive remapper software, or the built in remapping buttons to map any button you wish, EXCEPT THE START AND SELECT BUTTONS. Being able to remap at least the select button would have alleviated the problem mentioned above, and I'm not sure why they didn't think of this glaring oversight. Rear buttons - These are actually in a very accessible position, and comfortable to press, but they are too close together if you like resting your four fingers on the rear buttons at all times. In order to use them this way, your middle and ring fingers have to be fused together practically. Some folks might have this type of tight claw grip when they play, but I would venture to guess they are in the minority. They are best used with one finger per side. Bumpers - I'm finding they are obnoxiously loud. I don't know why they chose this for only the bumpers. Everything else is nice and quiet. Size - These are built for bigger hands. This might be a plus or minus for some. For my medium sized hands the stock XBox controller size is slightly better, but it's kind of a toss up. Grip - The replacable grip plates are another great idea, but they chose to use too smooth of a surface, something made out of rubber would have been much better. I really love this controller, but because of where the start and select buttons are (especially select), I'm honestly not sure if I'll be keeping it. If they were closer to their stock positions, this controller would easily be a 5/5. If you want the best of the best, this should be on your shortlist of controllers to seriously consider, as the components used are top tier. Update 10/18 - I wanted to love this controller, but I had to return it. I couldn't get over the fact that the back buttons are only usable by one finger per side (and acquiring the position by feel wasn't working for me despite hours of trying to get used to it), and the select/start button placement. Also, I noticed the direction pad developed an issue of repeating input randomly (yes, I did the firmware update out of the box) and Thrustmaster didn't even bother to respond with courtesy email to me after 24 hours (doesn't bode well for a premium product). This is a premium feeling product but ergonomics hold this back from being perfect. Updating to 3 stars from 4+.

Perfect controller for me
I have been a console gamer for years and to be precise a PS person. ( I know) Anyhow recently I decided to go all in in the PC gaming world . I had been using a wired x box controller to play a game on PC that I have been playing for years on PS4. And while I was able to hold my own, I was for sure missing shots due to alot of things with the controller .I am aware that PS$ controllers can be used for this but I want to kick things up a level or 4 . I do not like the X box layout as I am not used to it and well a 35.00 X box controller from Game Stop is not a piece of junk it just is what it is . So after some research, mostly You Tube reviews I purchased this controller . Mostly because I could change stick config easily. I really did not expect a major improvement in my game performance, I WAS WRONG. This to me at least feels like a piece of gear that deserves to be called Pro. Not only is it built like a tank. Everything about it is just pleasing. The feel of it, the weight of it, the way the sticks feel , the click of the buttons. It is just rock solid. As to my game performance it is much better , easier to control my reticle and track targets. Much more precise trigger pulls , not the WTF pull anymore . Very similar button layout as to the options and share to PS4 dual shock so muscle memory is there. I am aware that they make a variant designed to work with PS4 , however I have not turned mine on in weeks and probably never will again. Especially after finding this controller as now I feel like I do not have to compromise and have a better controller all around by along shot. If you are looking for more precise control in your controller gaming then buy this thing right now. I got mine refurbished by Amazon for 130.00 so it was a bargain and had it was in new condition including all the packaging . It came with a grey/black striped USB cable that is plenty long enough to lick back at a gaming desk for sure. I am very pleased with this purchase .
