A big step in improved safety but test them before leaving the shop
As a senior skier, I was happy to find a binding specifically engineered to protect from dreaded ACL injury. This is a major safety advancement for skiers. These bindings cost more than typical bindings but if they provide more ACL protection, an extra hundred bucks is peanuts. Test them for ease of step-in and ski removal before taking them home from the installing shop to be sure that the installer set the boot adjustment correctly; mine didn't and the first day I used them I had considerable trouble getting the heel to engage. Unlike other heel bindings with only a basic DIN adjustment at the heel, these bindings have three heel adjustments. My installer set the DIN properly but apparently didn't do the boot adjustment. When I inquired to the manufacturer, their rep called me and spent an hour on the phone with me to walk me through the settings and explain correcting the adjustment. Great customer support.
