The Alpecin Dandruff Killer shampoo is effective at keeping the dandruff away. One can feel it working on the scalp, especially if left on for a few minutes before rinsing it out. My hair feels good and clean after a wash, but I also tend to use a conditioner to help keep hair and scalp feeling softer and more supple.When I first tried it after having caught something from a new barber that suddenly gave me itchy scalp and dandruff, I found this shampoo was slow to remove it, and I needed the more powerful Nizoral suggested by my Doctor for a quicker cure. However, unlike the Nizoral, I can use the Alpecin as a daily shampoo, and always use it after swimming where there are all sorts of strange bacterial and fungal infections lurking around, and so far over the last half year the dandruff has not returned.At home we have soft water so a little of this goes a long way and the bottle lasts for months, and the consistency allows for good management of how much one uses. At the pool with the hard water I need a lot more, so that second bottle although used less frequently is always the first to be renewed.

I use as have bad yeast infections on my head and face. Last purchase cleared it up after one wash. New formula 5 washes in still got signs if it in my scalp. So new formula they've cut corners on effectiveness.

Really nice brand, I use the Alpecin caffeine shampoo as well as this. I had really big problems with dandruff and I use shockwaves as well so it's to be expected I'll get issues but it's the only gel/styling that works for me, so this is great stuff it sorts out all the mess and stops my hair falling out after four or five uses of shockwaves. It's designed to fight dandruff and protect the roots and it does it's job really well. I will always use this brand as it works really well for me.
