Great Value! Works like a champ!
I wanted to wait until I'd gotten through Field Day to make sure this did what it was supposed to do. It did that, and then some. It's a champ! It powered through 24 hours straight driving two transceivers without breaking a sweat. I couldn't hear any noise from the cooling fan. It ate up the generator power as well as it did house power. It didn't complain or mess up my FT-991 when the generator died due to fuel issues. It didn't overheat; it didn't cause any noise on the bands. It's so much lighter than my 30 amp linear (and so much cheaper) and there is NO downside. In short - a tremendous value! I can't think of a reason to buy into the linear power supply bias out there. There's no reason to spend twice as much to get a linear that's three times the size and weight. Having said that, be aware that it is from China; no doubt there can be quality issues on delivery. But as you can see from some of my other reviews, that can be the case regardless of the country of origin, and as is evident from some other reviews of this product, those issues were, by and large, addressed. Pull the trigger. It's worth it!This is a good deal.

Switching vs Non-switching
This was my first switching supply. My ham radio goes crazy when turning off the supply as the voltage decays. My radio display remains on for a short time, then goes out, then flickers back on again while i can hear pops in the speaker durning this power off cycle. I must first power off the radio first brfore turning off the supply. One interesting note about Amazon....i later ordered a book listed used at an agreeable price using a gift card, then the next day Amazon states the book is no longer available in stock but i can get another used book at a much higher price. Worse yet, my gift card in now on my Amazon account waiting for my next purchase. Guess what Amazon, you won't let me complain on your site, so i complain here and elsewhere on the internet. I would purchase more from Amazon, but damagesd shipments and crap like this send my elsewhwere.

Afer Having Purchased My First One in mid-2012, I Now Own 3 of these Robust Workhorses! Great PS!
I purchased the first of these QJE 50Amp power supplies from Amazon in mid-2012, and I now own three of them (one is in full-time continuous-duty service supplying from 30 to 50A at all times,, while the other two serve as spares/backups and are also pressed into occasional service, as needed, on one of the benches in my lab/workshop. These small wsitching supplies are lightweight, compact, and, in my experience, extremely hardy and robust! For use in my lab/workshop, I own numerous analog (linear) and switching power supplies that are rated to supply 13 to to 15VDC at currents ranging from 25 amps to 75 amps, and I must say that of all the benchtop DC switching power supplies that I have owned in this voltage/current/power range, this is by far the most reliable and robust supply that I have ever seen. In the time that I have used one of these supplies without a single failure, I have had five (5) MFJ-4275 switching supplies (rated to supply 75 amps at up to 16 VDC) fail on me, and I have also had two other switching supplies fail as well. So, I very much appreciate this QJE power supply, and one more thing thatI should note is that the front panel voltage/current analog meter is unusually accurate!I already own three of these power suppplies -- need I say more?

not reliable: failed under light load
I gave it a try but the unit failed - no light, no voltage, no fan- in less than forty-five days of light-duty use: one 5A mobile radio used about two hours a day. Was plugged into a heavy duty surge protector with a laptop and another radio power supply, none of which experienced a problem, so probably not a surge. Checked the fuses, which were good, moved it to another outlet but it is DOA. Not what I expect for almost one hundred seventy dollars.

BEST POWER SUPPLY I HAVE EVER OWNED
This is the best power supply i have ever owned. I have one MFJ 35 amp regulated power supply and heard that after you have them for awhile, it loses voltage and that is not good. Mine is still going and must have got a good one i guess. I was not going to take that chance on getting another MFJ anyway. This 50 amp supply works very well and when you turn it on you do not hear anything. I thought for a moment the supply was not even on, but it was. For the price and the amps that you get from this power supply, it is well worth it. If i ever get another one, i will be getting the QJE instead of any other one. I always wanted to get at least a 45 or 50 amp supply to run all my radio equipment. For a 50 amp you would pay a lot more if you ordered from some other supplier and this is the best price i have ever found anywhere ! I am going to enjoy this amp and i have got power to run anything i need. Thank You QJE for your very good well built supply and it is worth every penny in my book .

Bad meter so terrible power supply
The media could not be loaded. After 7 months of use the front meter is crazy, no matter on voltage or current.Tried to find the manufacturer uselessly. No one know who made this thing. It is not a big problem but it is disgusting to have a useless meter in front a new power supply.BTW, the voltage output is ok, only the meter that is the problem. If anyone know how to find such specialized meter please write down.
