The listing/picture is for a caucasian doll, we received an african-american version. My daughter does not care, she hasn't said anything about how it doesn't look like the picture of what she wanted, but it's not what we ordered. Nowhere in the listing does it say that the doll may vary, so I assumed it would come as pictured. Due to the packaging, it doesn't seem like there's any way to tell until you open it.My daughter waited so patiently for this to arrive, and she has played with it constantly for days now. It reminds me of Cupcake Surprise dolls from my childhood, even down to the vintage-style plastic hairbrush.

It’s just as pictured. Purchased for my granddaughter. Cute to turn it from cupcake to princess but that’s about all you can do with it.
