I do find the headband a bit tight and your head is bigger than mine. I wear a 7 3/8. I've considered cutting the headband at the back and sewing in an extension but haven't tried it. That might be an option for you. I ride in the desert and soak the head cap in water for cooling. It helps a great deal in our 110+ degree heat. I carry one water bottle for me and another to soak my headband in. **Q: Is this item actually "uv-rated"?** A: The tail is double layers and so is factor 50, the actual head covering is rated lower at 20-30. It doesn't appear on the manufacturers site but does appear on the attached label of the item. **Q: How long is the neck cover?** A: Comes down to brush my shoulders. Perfect for me. I wore it at a Spartan obstacle race in Bahrain. 118 F Sun was BRUTAL!
