Very glad to have found this on Amazon! I recently took a TNR class (trap, neuter, return) to be eligible for low cost spay/neuter. My boyfriend's neighborhood has a lot of homeless cats out there fending for themselves, and I knew I needed to do something to stem the tide of constant kittens being born into short, tough lives. In the TNR class, the instructors had these on display and said they were a must-have item for TNR. These are used when you are going to feed a caged kitty or clean the newspaper from a trap; by sticking this in, on an angle, you keep some distance between your hand and scared kitty, and also prevent kitty from escaping when the door is opened. I was disappointed to discover that one of my two traps actually has no door (argh!), so this little divider is an absolute necessity for that particular model of cage. (Word to the unwise: make sure the trap you buy has a door on the end of the cage, for feeding and cleaning, in addition to the trap door). Anyway, we use this quite a bit in trapping (not always, but when we need it, we NEED it), and we affectionately refer to it as the Pitchfork. ("Honey, I'm about to feed, can you please bring me the Pitchfork?") Very happy to have found this "pitchfork" on Amazon, along with so many other TNR and shelter supplies.Update: When we accidentally trapped a 415 pound raccoon (well, maybe more like 30, but hey, our new friend Rocky the Raccoon looked BIG!) this divider was worth it's weight in gold!

I have used this before and it is exactly what I wanted. I run a feral cat program and this product allows us to safely feed and clean the cats without a chance of being bitten

Works great for many traps, a necessity for me but I think its expensive

I have a humane live trap that I use to TNR the local ferals. However, after getting scratched by a young kitty when I was trying to change out the soiled newspaper lining while she was recovering from her spay, I realized I needed a divider. My trap is a different brand of trap, and the matching divider was kind of pricey. This one was cheaper and it worked just as well. No more kitty scratches!

This is a must if you need to contain an animal, in my case a cat that WAS NOT HAPPY, and also get access to feed and clean for a short time. Absolutely impossible to do that without this.

This works so well when you do TNR. Trap N Re-release cats. It is great a great divider while inserting water and food.

When dealing with a feral cat or other animals in a trap, this tool is essential!
