Great book!
I have read many, many books on nutrition and pregnancy over the last 30 years and this is one of the best! It goes far beyond preventing deficiency symptoms and birth defects and gets into optimal nutrition from a super food diet and super supplies of supplements. Which I have been convinced for a long time are absolutely necessary in this day and age, because of our adulterated food supply and nutrient deficient soils. It is too bad, but we just can't get what is needed for optimal health for us and our children from food. Read this book and proceed with confidence! I am recommending it to all of my daughters and the other young women I have in my life.

Wonderful book telling you all you REALLY need to know ...
Wonderful book telling you all you REALLY need to know about your vitamin intake during pregnancy. If you think you can just eat your way there, guess again! Eating super healthy can still leave a lot to be desired for you little one! Strongly recommend this book to all women.

the author seems very much like her father
I was waiting for this book for some time. So far, the author seems very much like her father. I am about to start Midwifery school soon, so I am excited to have this book in my library.

Required Reading for All Parents!
VITAMINS & PREGNANCY: THE REAL STORY is a book that belongs in the home of everyone who plans (or doesn't plan) on having children. Author Helen Saul Case, daughter of author and Orthomolecular Medicine Hall of Fame member, Andrew W. Saul, was raised on a diet of wholesome, nutritious, natural foods. The "medicines" that were used in the Saul household were whole foods, fresh juices and vitamins. The author, in preparation for starting her own family, did extensive research into the roles that all of the various nutrients play in promoting maximum health for both mother and child. The result of her research is this remarkable book (and two very healthy children).Ms. Case, like her father, is an author. As well as having written nutrition-related books, she has published articles in the Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine. It is obvious from her writings that she knows her stuff. She shares in this book what she has learned through her exhaustive research, as well as what she has learned first-hand through her own pregnancies.Despite the fact that this book is very specific and very thorough (59 pages of footnote references!), it is written so as to be easily understood by all. And it is an absolute delight to read! Ms. Case has a unique style of writing; She shares very specific, well-documented information in an informal, witty, and almost folksy manner. She discusses the specific benefits of many different nutrients, and then covers the myriad of concerns (migraines, stretch marks, yeast infections, etc.) the reader may have, along with specific nutritional options for dealing with these issues.Ms. Case shares her own stories of growing up in a household with parents who utilized nutrition for maintaining maximum health. She then shares with us some of the adventures that she and her husband have experienced while creating and raising two healthy children. This is a book that belongs in your home, and in the homes of all of your friends who are, who will, or who may, one day be parents.

TOP NOTCH, a must-read for healthy happy pregnancy
What a FABULOUS resource!!!! Discusses in depth why women need more vitamins and minerals than we can possibly get from diet alone, that sufficient nutritional support results in easier, happier, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences, and healthier babies too. Join the Facebook group “Vitamin C in pregnancy and birth” and google “Klenner Protocol” for good dosage information. This is stuff EVERY DOCTOR AND MIDWIFE *SHOULD* KNOW BUT DOESN’T.
