If you are replacing an exhaust manifold gasket, buy one. Wasted multiple days of soaking in penetrating oil and trying 5 different vice grips and would not budge. Using this got the broken stud out in seconds.

So this worked fantastic for me. I had 3 out 4 stripped studs on my turbo manifold that I needed removed. A little heat on the manifold and this tool and they came right out. Really impressed with the ease of use. Keep in mind sometimes you may need heat to extract the tough rusted ones.

This stud extractor worked awesome. Removed two broken exhaust studs from a cylinder head with no issues.

This is a good tool for the handyman who is working with MINOR stuck bolts. I needed to remove rusty body mount bolts on a 19985 Jeep. Did not work at all. Broke on the first bolt.

It’s kind of bulky but if you have the room, this beats using that one with the knurled wheel, excellent design that it’s reverse grip, meaning when you go to loosen the stud it tightens harder and twists at the same time, used it for ford 5.4 exhaust manifold studs, worked perfect with some heat

Should be zero stars (but Amazon does not allow that for reviews).Got this to remove a stuck stud on an engine block. Tightening the tool down tight enough to get a good grip on the stub ended up stripping the internal mechanism that closes the jaws that is supposed to grip the stud.Returned it.
