Fantastic Purchase for any intense hiking trip
I did a 40 mile trek through the desert in Big Bend national park. There were a significant amount of elevation changes all throughout the hike, the sun was brutal, and the water was scarce.needless to say, pack weight was at a premium due to the high amount of water we had to carry at any given time.Due to all of that i wanted to get the most powerful and lightweight foods I could find for the trip.Greenbelly meals pack very nicely, and I used each bag to collect and hold my trash from the day as they are resealable.I ate peanut butter/apricot and banana/dark chocolate (2 of each). They didn't taste amazing, but let's face it when you need the most nutritious superfoods packed into a small item you can't expect something out of a restaurant. That being said, they did not taste bad, not at all. I enjoyed eating them. They are dry so definitely expect to gulp some water with them, and they are a bit tough to finish (because they give you so much food, which is a good thing)My lunches consisted of one greenbelly and one probar. After lunch I would be able to power through the next several miles with only intermittent pauses for water. Whether it be sharp or gradual uphill climbs I was glad I had brought greenbelly meals.Over the 40 miles, averaging about 13 miles per day. We climbed over 10,000 ft and descended nearly that much. These are a must have for any hiker who is looking for the absolute best meal for the size and weight, something to help you power through when you are past the point of exhaustion. However, if this was a less intense trip I might have packed say a freeze dried cookable meal for lunch. If you are looking for what I mentioned above definitely purchase this item. If you are going on a casual trip you will definitely get a powerful lunch with this, but depending on your preferences and needs, you may not have to purchase an item quite this minimalist.all in all, I will 100 percent be purchasing again.

Delicious option for no-cook meals
To be honest, I was a bit skeptical about these bars. I ordered the variety 9 pack figuring I could choke down 9 of them even if I hated them. I was wrong...immensely wrong. The packaging is good. Easy open with a easy tear notch above a resealable zip lock. It’s a foil packaging; durable and waterproof. Fits easily in the brain of my pack as well as in the cargo pocket of my pants. The consistency of all three types of bars are moist but not at all sticky. All three flavors are delicious. Absolutely no aftertaste or funny “wang” taste common in most protein bars. Even my son loves them, and he’s a somewhat picky eater. When I handed him a piece of the peanut/apricot bar, he had a doubtful look on his face. After he tried it, we ended up splitting our bars so we each got one peanut/apricot and one dark chocolate/banana. As a result, I’m ordering a 30 pack. These are perfect for any meal while backpacking when you don’t want to break out the stove or are just in a hurry to keep moving.

Incredibly tasty, quick eating for on the go, and packed with nutrients to provide necessary energy for sustained hiking!!
Amazing!!! I picked up a pack of these for a hike I just completed along the Kalalau Trail in Kauai, Hawaii. Not only were they incredibly tasty, but for the 22 mile journey along the mountainside’s goat trails of Kauai’s north coast with constant elevation changes, these meals kept me filled with plenty of energy to maintain a great pace. The fact of not having to break out a Jetboil for boiling water, and easy cleanup during the actual hiking days made these a great supplement to the meal plan I prepared for the 5 day trip. These did not take up too much space in the original packing, but easily could have been transferred into ziplock bags if space becomes an issue. Definitely a go-to item I will continue using for future hikes!

Lightweight, compact, filling and yummy!
I purchased the 3-pack sampler and gave them a try on my hikes. I liked the convenience, taste, texture, natural ingredients, amount of calories, light weight and small volume of space needed in my pack. My favorite turned out to be the chocolate banana. My only complaints have nothing to do with product quality or taste which are excellent, but it’s the reason why I subtracted 1 star: (1) I have to purchase 9 meals at a time, and (2) the cost including shipping exceeds $6 per meal.Update on 10/11/2019I have upgraded my rating to 5 stars. I’ve been a steady customer for awhile and keep coming back for more. Yes, they cost a bit more but they taste great, they are lightweight and compact, and dadgum it, I guess they are worth the money!

Good Quality; Tasty; Excellent Customer Service
One of the three packages I purchased did not weigh the stated amount. It was more than an ounce less. I contacted Greenbelly. They are sending me a replacement. Also, I asked them why there was no "best by" date on the package. Greenbelly said they ship within a week of preparation. So the stated 6 month shelf life should be good. They don't keep a backlog of inventory. As to quality, I opened the underweight bar, cranberry and almond. It was moist but not sticky like a lot of protein bars. There are two bars per package. They are larger than most protein bars. They are meant to be a light meal. I plan on making them part of my camping menu.

So i loved the bars
So i loved the bars. They're a little bland, but for me, that's preferred. So many bars have so much sugar, and I really am not a "sweet" person. I utilized them while hiking by eating one with coffee for breakfast, and using the other as my trail snack. Amazingly enough, that was perfect. By lunch I was hungry, and able to eat. Usually when I hike, I have to force myself to eat. Because these bars are so clean, my body responded so much better. My only complaint is that the packaging is large. But, with most stuff on the trail, I do lots of prep beforehand. So next time, I'll simply put them in smaller ziplocks before I head out.I'll definitely be using these bars as I move forward with the hobby!!
