Gigabit Ethernet LAN Low Profile PCI Express (PCIe) Network Controller Card 10/100/1000

These network cards are cheap and effective. One or two may be DOA or just stop working all together, but when you buy them in batches for a business, can't beat the price for these network cards. Overall, fast a reliable.

This would not keep a solid connection for online gaming, so I had to buy a different one. Tried multiple game servers to rule out a bad server. Did fine when browsing the internet.

Not sure if these units are tested before being sold, but I am upgrading my network from 10/100 to a Gigabit (1000). Anyways this card worked for 2 days then came into my office and it said network cable unplugged. So I checked the connections and tried a new cable, which was a no go. Shut down the pc and pulled the card, it was HOT like really hot. I waited for it to cool down and tried it in another desktop pc. Installed the driver etc. and plugged in the network cable the one I know is working (was plugged into the onboard nic of motherboard) and put it into this nic. Same thing it would not detect the cable being plugged in. SO just for the heck of it I checked the cable and made sure it was a 5e cable and not just a 5. Which it was a 5e. So I opened a new Cat6 cable and tried it as well and same results.... bad card.This card really should be a fire hazard being how hot it was when I pulled it out. I am glad it didn't damage the pc or worse.I hate leaving bad reviews as this card was probably just a bad one and its possible others work great but this review is on the card I received and what my experience was with it. Time will tell when others post there reviews, but when I did the amazon return it didn't give me the option to replace the card just a return and refund, so I purchased a different brand, and will be reviewing it once it is delivered.

Not good for linux

its a Ethernet port, your motherboard should have one, but if like me it starts to fail, you cant go wrong

This ethernet adapter does the job perfectly, and you can't beat the price. This is a quality product and the service from Jacob's Parts was excellent. We had previously purchased an aluminum computer case from this supplier, and were extremely satisfied as well.

I was in need for a LAN card for an older computer. I went to Amazon to see what was available. Amazon had many choices. This card was the one I ordered. The card arrived and was installed. It worked right off and continues to work today.

Card works great. Drivers installed automatically in Windows 7 and autodetects rate. Transfer rate comparable to native controller on motherboard.
