I have used mine several times and the thickness of the jaw tip is normal size of other pullers.

What are the cap screws for ? Two different sizes ?

there are 3 claws...all are different. Long one is 1/2 in wide at the tip, medium is 3/8 at the tip, short is 9/16 at the tip. Body of the long and medium is wider than the tip. Body of the short claw is narrower than the tip

Can this work for 97 Toyota Tercel crankshaft sprocket gear?

I have never tried it on a Toyota, it may work just not sure
