The price hike is not a major impediment for me. These are a great snack. I share them with friends. I serve them with hummus and indian pickles or avocado. There's no better accompaniment to a tossed salad. These keep for years on the shelf, though I have found a few bugs in some bags that may have been punctured in shipping. To prepare, put the papadams in a microwave. I cook a stack of 3 full power one minute on the glass plate of my 1100 W microwave. Adjust the time as needed. They are done when the sheen is entirely gone and the surface blisters. They char when overcooked; the surface should be dull and not dark. They are very fragile before and after cooking, so handle with care to keep them whole. If you break one, don't throw it out; they taste just as good when broken before cooking as after.

Udad papad, which are a food item, that I received was not fresh. The manufactured date on the item was more than a year ago and turn out orange color instead of yellow beige color when cooked, a sign that they are old, stale, and taste terrible. Better to buy this in person at a Indian grocery store where you can judge the quality before purchasing. With online purchase, there's is no returning and it's a waste of your money and time.

These crisp up nicely in the microwave. They are wrapped in packages so can go in the freezer for storage until you need some. The only thing I will say is that I think these are too peppery. I like spice/heat, but I found the pepper taste overwhelming. Next time I would get the plain ones.

Having had a few store-bought papad and been sorely disappointed I wasn't expecting much. When I got the package and found limp, tortilla-like disks I was a bit disheartened. However, pop them in the oven at 350 for just a few minutes and they come out hot and cool slightly to a proper crispy texture. The only downside is this is a huge number to eat, but the expiration date was a full eight months from when I received them and another reviewer claims to freeze them. The pepper flavor is nice and bold, pairing well with a strong curry. I look forward to trying a few other flavors, Lijjat is definitely legit!

This tastes pretty much the same as what you get in a restaurant. I microwave these for about 20-30 seconds and it crisps up very nicely without the grease they usually use in restaurants. The product is pretty brittle and will break a bit. I find that in the pack of 20 packages the packages at the top and bottom of the stack can be pretty beat up..perhaps half the pappadums in those 2 packages will be crushed pretty bad. All in all its fine value with a good amount of very quick to prepare pappadums and seems like a nice shelf life as well.

I love cooking Indian food and missed having the papadoms I order at Indian restaurants.. I decided to try these. Delicious. My only criticism is that you have to buy 20 packages at a time. But they are yummy. Do know that the Udad flavor is VERY peppery. You don't have to bake them. Just pop a Papad into the microwave for about 30 seconds. It will puff up and be ready to eat. The price is great.

Great taste but salt content is extremely high.
